These are a great value, but they are really big and bulky. We used another brand of AIO cloth diapers and thought we'd try these for the next size but we have put them on an online auction. They weren't even used once. We have a 21 month old girl who only weighs 22 pounds and is pretty tall so these are way too big and she won't fit into them before she's hopefully potty trained. Went back to our original brand.
I thought this would be great to try out since I am new to cloth diapering, and I wanted to try out several different brands before committing to a specific brand. My daughter is 10 months old and we just started cloth diapering three weeks ago. I have several comments about this diaper, and I am sad to say that you get what you pay for. While these diapers are much less expensive than other brands, they also don't hold up as well. They are not as soft, not as absorbent, and there is no elastic in the waist to hold them up. I'm glad these were not the first cloth diaper that I tried! They are better than gDiapers, which fit more snuggly but left red marks, and also leaked. My daughter leaked through these due to the strange fit and lack of absorbency (we added a microterry newborn insert and this helped). These are much bulkier than others, and the toddler size was way too big for my 22 lb daughter. The infant size fit better, but I still had problems with bulkiness. They are not very durable, and I am EXTREMELY meticulous when it comes to caring for my diapers as I want them to last through several children (we have an HE frontloader and use only enzyme-free detergent specifically made for cloth diapers, on all of our clothing - and line dry diapers). After only two washes, these diapers just weren't the same. I am disappointed that Kushies didn't work for us because it did seem like a great deal. Unfortunately, we'll have to stick to our BG 3.0 and FuzziBunz unless we see improvements in the quality and design of Kushies. I gave them a rating of FAIR due to the problems I experienced, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try cloth - I still feel these are better than disposables, but not better than other cloth brands. This is typically the last diaper I will grab from my stash.
I still have two in diapers right now and I was using so many disposable diapers - a waste of money and environment. I wanted to go the clothe route but didn't want the hassle of pins and plastic covers - the Kushies diapers are a dream come true. My girls stay dry even through naps. I was so impressed I've convinced my sister to go this route too!!
First, let me say that I have a 3 year old who is finally potty trained and out of disposable diapers. I also have a 17mth old who has up to now been wearing disposable diapers. I decided to make the switch when I realized I still had another year and a half of buying disposables and wanted to do something "green" and something good for my baby. My son just barely is past the minimum weight for this size of cloth diapers so to me they seemed a tad big for him and quite bulky compared to disposables. I think they work great however, and wish I had used them for my first son as well. They are defiintely HIGH quality and seem like they will be very durable. I also purchased the flushable liners which make #2's a cinch to clean up. I am definitely still learning but definitely don't understand the horror stories I heard from some moms about using cloth. These are fantastic and just as easy to use as disposables!!!
This product is a money-saver in the long run (especially if you have more than one child in diapers) not to mention it's environmentally friendly. I recommend the additional cloth liners (these diapers don't absorb as much as disposables), and the flushable liners (for easy clean-up & less "mess" in your washing machine).
