These diapers are, without a doubt, the worst diapers I have ever seen. And I am 64 years old so I have seen many! They are thin and flimsy, and if that wasn't bad enough, they shrank probably 40% when washed and dried. They might work on the smallest newborn but that's it!
I used these when my children were babies and they worked wonderfully. I liked the idea of NOT putting plastic on their behinds. If you needed to use 3 - 4 at a time to make them useful, I wonder if you neglected to use the plastic pants required along with the cloth diapers.
I bought these diapers when I got the cloth diaper bug. HOWEVER, I would not recommend these diapers for anyone starting out cloth diapering. They shrink up pretty small (I can still get them wrapped around my 20lbs 5 month old, but not for very much longer) and are not as absorbent as other Prefold Cloth Diapers. But since I bought them opened them and washed them before I knew any better, I couldn't return them. They would make great burp cloths, but since I have an ample supply of burp cloths I wanted to use them another way. If I use one as the diaper, and fold another in thirds and line the other with it, It works as a diaper, I just change it sooner than I would another diaper. I also have been using them as "soakers" at night. I fold it in thirds and line my prefold with it to help soak up the extra at night. Not a total waste, but do not buy them solely for cloth diapering!
I used the old version of these for my older daughter and they worked well- great if you added a cheap disposable liner to them. They have changed their design in the last year, though. The new ones are poorly woven. The thread count isn't nearly as high as it should be and they aren't absorbent at all. I will no longer use any Gerber diaper.
I got this pre-fold it works for lil one cause u can fold it in half for more wetness protection. for my older son I went to the local dollar store bought microfiber towels and use them on the top of the prefold and it work great for me. So i will say for the mom on a tight tight budget work at it. In the long run I found it worth it. about 1.50 each pre-fold with the microfiber stripes I placed with it.
