I really appreciate the measurements on the side. When transitioning from a bottle it's important to see that baby is getting enough. The handles are also a plus. Easy to assemble and baby took to it immediately. Unfortunately we can't stop it from leaking. I do wish that the bottle tops fit as well so we could have began transitioning from the bottle sooner.
Poor quality. Leaks. Too many pieces. Cup leaks when on it's side. I bought it for Avents good brand and experience with their bottles and pumps. But the cup didn't live up to these expectation
I purchased this cup today for my toddler. She is learning how to drink from a cup, and requires a faster flow than is possible from a spouted sippy cup. I read the packaging carefully, and decided on this style cup as it sounded like it would suit my current needs. After purchasing, I rinsed it and filled it with 100mls of water. My toddler easily held the handles and bought it to her mouth (she already has the concept of drinking from a cup - I just want her to learn to do it independently, without spilling). As she mouthed the side of the cup her nose pressed the centre of the 'lid', releasing the valve which meant water poured out and soaked her dress right through. She tried again to drink, this time mouthing the top (the packaging states it can be drank from 360degrees) and the entire contents spilled out of the bottom of the rim - epic fail...100mls of water ON my toddler. 0 mls in her. So disappointing. While the water does not spill if the cup tips over, it certainly spills when toddlers are trying to drink from it. I am very disappointed with this (expensive) purchase, and would like to be contacted regarding a refund (I do not use Facebook or twitter, only email). After reading the other reviews on here, it looks as though other parents have experienced the same thing I did. I think this product needs reconsideration, to minimize disappointment and frustration.
This cup is so clever and does not leak at all if you assemble it correctly. It has a durable feel about it and our cup is still going strong after being given to us by a friend who already used it on their child and its still like new. It has a lid so it can go in your nappy bag and won't leak at all even when tipped on its side. It has four pieces to assemble for the mouth piece, so its only downside is that cleaning it is a bit of a pain and you need to disassemble it, but its such a great design where water can only come out of it when your child's lip pushes on it that the time consuming cleaning is a small price to pay and can't be helped. My 9 month old uses it with my help, so its not just for toddlers, and has been perfect for transitioning straight from the breast to an adult style cup without the need for bottles or baby sipper/straw cups.
These are really good cups. My son has three. The only downside is, sometimes a little of whatever is being drunk, tends to get left in the rim and when he goes to get a drink it gets all over his forehead. But make sure you put the seal in right (where the words Avent are faceup) or you'll end up with a giant milk trail from one end of the house to the other (it's an easy mistake to make if you've never had one of these before). There'll probably be no problem once my son gets olde though. So really there's not much of a problem. He already has almost all his teeth so the less we have to use sippy cups, the better :)
