Used on the bottom step of the stairs - the quality is good, the installation is good, the latch to open and close is easy to use - easier than two gates my daughter uses - BUT - the swing gate is only 19 inches wide - if you are not model thin and have a baby on your hip - I bump my hip constantly - the swing gate should be at least 24 inches - Was going to buy another for the entryway into my living room and there's no way my heavy friends will fit.
We installed this earlier this week and I love it. Easy to operate and it feels very secure. We use it to keep dogs separated.
If I could I would give this gate negative stars! The pins and black plastic end caps keep falling out while assembling and then god forbid you have to use more than half the length of the bolt to add tension because all the threads are dented about half way down the bolt. Save your money. DO NOT BUY!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love how easily this gate functions. Really like how it is adjustable to fit wide openings and that it automatically closes behind you. I have used quite a few gates over the years and this by far my favorite. It is easy to install and doesn't damage walls. Very well made.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gate was so easy to use out of the box. We were able to use the various parts to find the best fit for the wide opening into our living room from the kitchen. One feature that is helpful is that the gate has the ability to stay open, which is a nice feature at night after the children (three under three) have gone to sleep. The latch is easy to use to open the door, even when my hands are full, but not easy enough for my toddler to figure it out. The latch makes a noise so you know that it's closed securely, but it isn't loud enough to be startling. This gate has been a lifesaver for keeping my cruising littles from trying to go up the stairs or into the kitchen to play with the dog's water bowl.
