So the boards are of good quality and look good. The brackets fit accurately except that the brackets I received were labeled wrong. These boards were installed on a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 regular cab stepside. The labels are as:PFM(passenger front mount)PRM(passenger rear mount)DFM(driver front mount)DRM(driver rear mount)-all wrong! The 2 longest brackets go to the rear cab mounts, these were labeled DFM&PFM.The shorter brackets go to the front cab mounts, these were labeled DRM&PRM.Installing it the way they were labeled had the boards diagonal and not parallel to the cab.I had to watch a youtube video where another dude ran into the same issue.Otherwise they seem to be safe when stepping onto them. The cab mounts can be tricky-use an impact at your own risk,it can break the tach weld on the upper end of the mount which you cannot get to,so that leads to disaster.I didn';t have an issue but I did on a K5 Blazer and had to cut a notch in the body channel to cut out the old bolt and had to use another nut, total pain in the a**.The torque specs for cab mounts on my truck said 55ft lbs.
After two months, brackets and bolts are rusting on my iBoards 4” for 2003 Silverado 2500HD. Got an email from the company basically telling me that I got what I paid for and offered me $40 for my trouble. I would rather return them and buy a product that won't rust in less than 60 days. So sad.
I got the crew cab (double cab) model and the rear bracket mount location was incorrect. The picture in the instructions seemed like it was for a different model truck frame. I had to modify the brackets to make them work. It all took several hours to do aside from the installation time. Seemed ridiculous considering it is marketed as using the factory frame holes. However, the rails do look good on the truck.
Was an easy install and they look good on the truck. My only complaint would be that the bags with the parts in them weren't labeled, wasn't that big of a deal but it added to the problem of figuring out the install. So once you figure out what is what and which install instruction is for your vehicle it goes very quick. They are sturdy and do what I want them to do.
Boards look great. As for installation, not so great. Brackets were mismarked which made installation problematic. Boards would work out better if the brackets had a height adjustment to get the boards to sit a little bit lower than the door sill. By making brackets adjustable, stepping up into the truck would be easier.
