The AF Tsunami Drencher Power Pump Water Blaster is super fun for older kids. The pump sticks a bit and was difficult for the under 9 kids who tried to use it and keep up with the older kids who were pumping away drenching them. Good thing they were good sports and enjoying getting drenched! Because the pump puts out so much water, the reservoir does empty quickly and it requires frequent refills. The kids had a great time using these and as long as the whole crowd has the same model that need frequent fill ups, it works for a fun water fight. The kids dropped these often and they seem sturdy, no breaks or leaks with a few hours of use.
I received this item back in December and gave it to my daughter as a Christmas gift. We have just started being able to play with it. It has a tank so she doesn't have to keep refilling it, and the pump is super easy for her to use. She's 7. I purchased similar ones for her cousins and myself and we have a ball with them.
My kids were very excited when we received our Tsunami Drencher. It is a fun water toy to make little family competitions of who can shoot the longest stream or to get the other one soaked. It does shoot far; I wouldn't say it shoots 51' like stated in the packaging but if you use strong force, it can reach a good distance. However, the water in the reservoir runs out very fast and the only way to refill again is placing it under a faucet or using a hose. I would be so much easier if it could be refilled by using a bucket/pool and pulling back the handle to load with water. This could speed up the process and make the experience so much fun. If I had to buy a new water toy, I would personally opt for a foam noodle water blaster instead: they're easier to fill and pump; they're lightweight and can float!
While my 6yo daughter made the best of playing with this doing her own interpretation of Splatoon and had a good time, I was not as impressed and would not recommend this product. For starters it was leaking from the first fill up and only continued to get worse as she played with it. Secondly, she had a very hard time completely pulling the handle all the way back. It seemed to stick almost every time. My older son had much better quality of these when he was younger so I know it shouldn't be like this. Expect it to be worth a days play and that's about it.
This is an awesome water gun. My son loves it. The water goes so far and the pump isn't difficult for him to use. I'll definitely have to get some more of these for summer time so all the kids can have one. Works so much better than the smaller ones that you have to fill with water every 5 minutes. It holds a good bit of water and you can definitely drench somebody with it!
