PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence for Dogs and Cats +5lb., Waterpoof, Tone and Static

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After being in our new home for around two months now and finally had a weekend free my husband and I decided to set up the inground fence. We have one femal dog roughly around 65 lbs that is fairly obedient and really just loves going outside between early morning and late evening. This kit comes nicely packaged with instructions and seems fairly understandable to figure out. You can also look up any trouble shooting online which I highly recommend along with training your dog before hand as that plays an important roll. It comes with everything needed to get started and you can purchase an extra collar or wire on line per animal if needed. I'm really only focusing on my backyard so this is more than enough to get me started as were literally going along the yard with no trees or bushes in the way. It also states that you can place it to an existing fence which I thought was pretty nice. I suggest two people working together as one digs and the other places the wire in the ground behind them. We layed the wire on top of the ground to determine were we wanted it to be and make any last adjustments before we started and we were able to finished in a day and a half with my son helping us towards the end. My husband took care of hooking the wire up and let me place the collar on our dog. We started out slowly and she did really good but started to follow her dad around front while on setting one which is just the tone so we went back and read directions and realized our mistake. We will start at two and up it one at a time during the next few weeks till she gets the concept and doesn't do it again. I can tell you at two when we first tried I don't know what she thought but it did take her by surprise and wasn't something she was use to so I think shes realizing not to go past the flag zone. The good thing is it's enough to startle her but without harming her or make her hate me. I'm still in the training mode and with her being an older dog I'm going a little slower since she gets so scared easily. This is going to be nice letting her out while I'm getting ready in the morning and giving her more room to roam and come back in on her time. One good thing to is thankfully we have a window that we can run the wire through at the corner to connect to the transmitter since it has to be connected indoors. The fence transmitter has a piece that's slides off so you can screw to the wall. Overall we made a few simple mistakes but it was fairly easy to set up and I feel better knowing she can enjoy the outdoors having more space to sniff and not run off! I highly recommend as it doesn't hurt your animal and gives them more freedom to move around!

This has helped maintain the boundaries that she needs. It has been fairly easy to train her with this system too. The setup was not bad at all. You can also add more wire up to 25 acres! I live that I can easily add additional dogs to the system. The collar is adjustable for big or small pets. It is also rechargeable so you don't have to worry about batteries like the old system I had. I would highly recommend for those that can put a little work in to installation and want to protect their pets from leaving their designated area.

The system comes with easy to read instructions and we even googled YouTube videos just to have some extra help with set up. The install was fairly easy and now after using it for a few weeks our dog has become used to the perimeters. We actually set it up in our front yard because of our dog getting out of our backyard and the street traffic is so bad. We were afraid she was going to get it. The collar is rechargeable and she is used to it now. We are so happy with this system because it helps keep our dog safe!!

It was pretty simple to install, we use it on our front yard where we have a lot of vehicle and foot traffic. It keeps my dog in our yard with no problems. It comes with very clear and easy to read instruction. The battery charge lasts a long time as well, which makes it nice, that i can leave my dog outside for any amount of time without a worry. You can also change the settings for each individual collar which is really nice, considering not all dogs react the same way and you can customize for your preference.
