La Vieja Fabrica Fruit Spread Blackberry 9.9 oz Jar

Unbelievably delicious, but now it's always Out of Stock!!!

Maybe it is Walmart's employees' processing fault or a careless manufacturer of this La Vieja Fabrica (the old fabric) fruit preserve glass jar product. But it arrived very loosely packed, risking glass breaking along the delivery process. The lid opened too easily which meant that it was not properly factory air sealed tight. The exterior of the glass jar was sticky with the blackberry stain on the label. Luckily I demanded and got a refund, then tossed the jar away. In my home state of CA, consumer health safety is taken seriously. I suspect someone pre-opened the jar and dipped their finger to taste it, then failed to seal it tight and clean whatever residue they left around the glass jar. After COVID, Walmart should be more germ free conscientious when buying from foreign brand sources ignorant of our state's health policies. If Walmart had refused, I would have gladly spent my own monies to take the jar of preserves to a lab to examine the contents for any possible contamination and not part of the original product ingredients. Not all us Walmart consumers are health and product indifferent. I am one that pays very close attention to ingredients and how any food item is packaged. I always take time to read every ingredient of any food product before buying it.
