Royal 85MX - Shredder - cross-cut - 0.154 in x 1.63 in

This was purchased to replace the same one that broke down after ten years. It is good to have for a personal home office, not real heavy duty but not a piece of junk either. If there is one thing I would ask for is a bigger waste bin, but then it wouldn't fit under my desk so nicely, and the bin does slide out easily. I like that the motor turns off automatically when the waste bin is pulled out.

Really shreds so it cannot be put back together and read.

The product overheats and shuts off after about 20 minutes of use. I bought it on 12.27.2010 and it quit working forever on 1.13.2011. I got about two weeks of intermittent work out of it. I am taking it back to the store today.

I purchased this for us and after seeing how great it is I bought another for my mom. We love how it shreds into confiti and it does CD's and credit cards. We use it almost daily but only a couple of pages of pager at a time or junk mail with our address on it. If you want a great shredder at a great price you should buy this one. It can handle anything a home office can give it. We did not put the wheels on since it is sitting in a spot we can reach all the time. I added felt pads to the bottom because we have a wood floor. Yes, it is a little loud but that is not a real deal breaker. BUY THIS!! you will not be sorry.

I am cleaning out my Mother-in-laws house which is filled with boxes of paperwork that has been filed away for over 50 years. (I burned up my shredder and had to order a new one) I have been shredding since I received this item a fews weeks ago! It works better then my last shredder! CON: It does over heat after a continual use..for me after 30 min. the machine and I need to rest!
