My chihuahua was very excited when I poured Nutro Grain Free into his bowl! He ate it very excitably and seemed to really enjoy it. He ate quite a bit in one sitting, when usually he's a slow eater and eats a little, goes and plays, and comes back to eat a little more. He was able to chew the pieces easily. As a mother of two young kids, I always try to feed my family the best of the best--and for me, that means non-GMO ingredients. This dog food brand is amazing!! My old childhood dog has basically no teeth left and has a hard time finding dog food small enough she can still eat. So the size of the food was perfect. I think that the idea is great with natural ingredients and with the small size that it makes it's more proportional for any size dog. However, no matter what I tried my dog refused to eat it. I tried it in my hand and in his bowl mixed with his other food and he would leave it behind. Today my two dogs (a male beagle/dachshund mix and a female chocolate lab) tried a new dog food, Nutro grain free, small bites, dry dog food. I loved that this dog food does not have added coloring. My dogs have had a hard time digesting (and have often thrown up) foods with red coloring in it. My dogs immediately started eating the food. the pieces of food were a simple round shape, which I like. Other foods are too busy trying to make the appearance of the dog food appealing rather than nutritious when in all reality, no dog cares what the food looks like. The flavor of this food was a pasture fed lamb. I also like that this food is a non gmo product! The packaging was nice, with appealing colors and good advertising of the non gmo on the front. the amount of food in the bag was a fair amount as well for a small bag of food. I do have a larger dog so I tend to buy the larger bags, but this was a nice size for my dogs to try the food and also for owners than only have a small dog.
