This product was received from the sparkreviewr program, a good good company to work with. The item arrived in great shape. It was great working with my niece as an introduction to the craft. It's creativity allowed for the use of simple items she was familiar with. While the bands were small and tight, they were very strong and flexible, not giving easy breakage. The packaging kept up well in transport, so it will be an easy gift to send to other young girls. The band's were bright and colorful. While some of the colors are basic, it was also a good visual teaching tool regarding how to mix basic colors to make a new one, as well as accenting, contrasting and complimenting colors. She is currently asking what else she can make with the bands-other than the bracelets-as she now wants to expand her possibilities of jewelry. She found the bracelets as good gifts to her classmates, too. She has asked me for more bands, which is good. While the topic of design took a little bit of explanation, she is now working towards other jewelry possibilities, too. This item allowed for some adult quiet time, too. But another side of the coin is that this was a good tool in working one-on-one time with her. When working with her, I was asked a lot of questions when going over design, which let me know that she was intrigued and processing the data given to her. I know she loves the bands as much as I do. I truly recommend this item to be one to get for creativity and learning!

I tried for an hour to make a bracelet. At first, I thought the directions were great; but, as I continued, they weren't as good as I thought. The pictures aren't as clear as they should be, either. Anyway, I didn't even get the bracelet into the tunnel of the loom in an hour! Too tedious and time consuming. I can't believe a pre-teen or teen would stay with this long enough to complete it. The packaging is attention getting, and the packets with the rubber bands are easy to open - it is a flap on each packet.

My daughter loved creating different bracelets for herself, friends and family members with this kit. She and I spent over an hour creating different colored bracelets. I gave the one I made to her and she gave me the one she made while we worked together on Christmas morning. I have a beautiful 14k diamond bracelet, but this handmade rubber band bracelet that mt sweet girl gave me for Christmas outshines it any day. This kit is very easy to use and the directions are very clear and easy to follow. This Just My Style Rubber Bands & Strands kit is overall a great product and I highly recommend it.

When I got the kit, instructions were missing. I contacted the company and got the instructions emailed to me. I liked using the small loom; I had used a similar loom for making yarn projects. I tried for days to figure out how to use the foam braiding wheel from the directions supplied by the company. I was unable to do so. The kit supplied a plastic hook, which broke soon after I started using it. The box says this kit is suitable for ages 6 and up. I would say perhaps 8 or 9 and up, because trying to slide the silicone bands from the loom onto a tiny plastic clip is more than many 6-year-olds would be able to do. I can't say I recommend this kit, because of the hard-to-understand instructions regarding the braiding wheel. If I get someone a kit, I would like them to be able to use the whole thing; not just part of it.

Just My Style Rubber Band and Strands is a complete set of colorful rubber bands with a handheld loom and a braiding wheel. The instructions are easy to follow with a drawing for each step using the loom. The braiding wheel is also easy to do and offers plenty of options for many styles of bracelets. These are the same type of tools that are used by jewelry makers. Once you learn how to use the handheld loom or the braiding wheel with the easy to follow instructions included this knowledge can then be used to make jewelry. My 10 year old daughter loves to make bracelets for all her friends at school and her family too. It didn't take her long to master the handheld loom and she loves to use it now. The set comes with a lot of rubber bands in bright colors so she makes colorful ones and she makes some that are only 2 colors, she has fun mixing it up. I would recommend this product to my friends because it is a quality product with easy instructions that include a drawing for each step. It is hours of fun for the little ones!!
