Learning Resources Pretend and Play Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency

Bought this for my granddaughter about a year ago. She loved it and used it all the time. It was a great learning toy. About 11 months later the register started to read the wrong coins and give the wrong answers. I contacted the company and in less than a week they had shipped us a brand new one that works great. It really is a great toy, and with electronics you have to expect glitches sometimes, but this company does a great job of design as well as service. Very happy!

Gave this to my daughter for Christmas this morning and she loved it. She played with it all day until it stopped working. The cash drawer will not open, but the unit thinks it's 'open' and it won't work. It won't even cut off. I have reset it but that didn't work. It's a great toy - when it works. Very disappointed.

I bought the learning resources' coins, thinking that they would work better In the cash register because they were the same brand. The pennies register as a dime, if this is a teaching toy, you would think the cash register should read the coins correctly? This needs to be corrected if the whole point is to teach children the correct amount !

Love the concept of this cash register. The part that i'm most upset with it is, when ordering the Canadian currency the $1.00 and $2.00 coins wont fit into the coin slot. Why sell something with the currency when part of it won't work?

The kids are having a great time with this toy. The coins and dollars are everywhere! Unfortunately, all of the cool, educational things that one would buy the toy for aren't functioning due to the "cash drawer open" issue. We cannot even turn off the unit. It won't turn off without pushing in the drawer. Once you stop pushing the drawer closed, it opens a smidge and turns the cash register on again. The issue doesn't affect the fun, just the learning but I don't find the value for price just for the fun.
