I recently tried the Tai Pei chicken egg rolls and they were delicious. I used apricot jam as a dipping sauce and they were delicious. And, I microwaved them. I mean if you're seeking a 5 star Chinese restaurant, then by all means, go to one, but not to any frozen food section at Walmart.
These eggs didn't taste good at all. It tasted like it had dish detergent or some other chemical in it. It had me wondering if it was tampered with, that's how bad it tasted. I threw the box in the trash.
The taste and texture is average if baked. They are soggy and fall apart if microwaved. Honestly, I'd rather spend a little more and get a better egg roll.
I'm not a picky eater and loathe wasting food but I've NEVER had such a terrible egg roll in my nearly 60 years on the planet! The box says "new crispier wrapper"... I'd sure hate to taste the ones prior. This wrapper was crispy/hard on the outside with a pasty/gummy inside. And the filling was... what was it? OMG! I tried microwaving. I tried the oven. Then resorted to thawing and skillet frying. These are not edible even to my palate! Couldn't even bring myself to offer them to the raccoons and opossums that come into the yard at night. Worse than garbage!
I'm also surprised at the reviews as mine were were crunchy and crisp.Maybe the other reviewers did not leave them in the ovcen long enough.I think they are quite tasty.
