Mori-Nu Silken Extra-Firm Tofu Block, 10.9 oz Box, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Shelf Stable, Contains Soy

I have purchased this product before. I had some reservations but I personally like this tofu. It is convenient. shelf stable, not needing to be refrigerated. It is a good product to have on hand for emergency food storage. It is extra firm so it holds up well in cooking and it picks up spices and flavors that you cook with. Some made the statement that this tofu has no flavor. I have found that Tofu in general has no flavor no matter what brand it is. Flavor comes from what you add to it. It is made with non GMO soybeans which I also like. For me this works.

We travel A LOT and we love that we can get this shipped right to us and it doesn't need refrigeration until you open it. Great for camping. Just be aware this type tofu (silken) is best for sauces

This tofu was delicious -- i slid it out of the packaging, lightly patted it dry, cut it into cubes and rolled half in cornstarch, salt and pepper, and pan-fried. The other half I just pan-fried on non-stick pan, and it browned nicely. They weren't so soft that they fell apart at touch, but when I was rolling in cornstarch, the corners were breaking off, so you still need to be gentle. But all in all, I love these silken shelf-stable tofu!!! Very smooth texture. I am a Walmart associate and I received this sample free in exchange for review.

This tofu was delicious and easy to cook with. I incorporated this tofu into a curry dish that I made. It was the exact firmness that I needed. While cooking with it, the tofu held up and did not completely disintegrate into the curry. Overall, the tofu was very silky and had an incredible mouth feel. I especially appreciated that this product is shelf-stable and can be held in my pantry for a longer amount of time until I am ready to use it. This did not have any effect on the freshness of the tofu. After opening the package, the tofu tasted and looked as fresh as any other refrigerated tofu. I also liked the fact that on the front of the packaging, it clearly states that the product is gluten free, non GMO certified, and contains no preservatives. I've had some firm tofu before, but this really lives up to the name. I squished (about 90N of force) it on paper towels for a few hours to remove the tofu juice, then seasoned with a smoky seasoning mix (dont use oil, it will not saturate the tofu), pan fried and broiled a few minutes (dont worry about internal temp of the tofu as it is safe to eat from the packaging).
