Black & Decker Platinum Series SPV1800 - Vacuum cleaner - handheld - bagless

I had one of those rechargeable dust-busters that sits in a cradle and it was ok for a while but never really seemed to have great power or durability. I love this one! It keeps its charge for a long time -- I only use it once in a while to suck up dust balls, etc but I didn't need to recharge for probably about 3-4 weeks. And you just pull the battery off the back when you want to charge it, leave it attached overnight, and the next day you're ready to go. I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

This product replaced another B&D hand vac that finally quit charging after 5+ yrs. I mainly bought this model because I have other B&D products that use the same 18V battery system. B&D needs to come out with a Lithium battery pack for this series to maintain a decent level of extended performance. No crevice or other tools included.

Purchased vac 4/09. Within 6 months, battery charge was noticeably shorter. Now a full charge will vac less than 2 minutes. The unit is heavy and having to remove the battery to charge is cumbersome. The wall mount type is much more convenient. There should also be bristles around the mouth to help sweep dust particles. Wish I would have kept my Dirt Devil, it was an unsightly color but worked great!

While I initially really liked this product based on the powerful suction and sleek appearance, I later found that the battery wasn't as efficient as I would have liked. When I charged the unit, left it for a day and then tried to use it, I would find that the power had weakened considerably. I plan on returning this item to a Walmart store.

This is our second one. First one was still going after 5 years but the battery was giving out so just decided to replace the whole thing. We live and travel fulltime in our motorhome and use this vacuum 4 or 5 times a day. Does the job. Only problem is the old one had attachments. The new one doesn't come with ANY attachments.
