The Philips AVENT Manual Breast Pump uses the patented Let-down Massage Cushion found in all Philips AVENT Breast Pumps. Clinically proven to be as effective as a hospital grade electric pump in mothers who delivered pre-term infants who pumped sequentially.

Breast Pump, Manual Inspired by nature. Stimulate. Express. Soft massage cushions are intended to help stimulate natural let-down. Gentle vacuum mimics baby's sucking for steady milk flow. BPA-free. Express more. Quickly. A natural approach that encourages optimal expression. Stimulate through massage. The massage cushions flex to mimic baby's suckling action, helping to stimulate a fast and natural let-down. Express effectively. The gentle-draw vacuum mimics baby's suckling to create a steady milk flow that requires less pumping. More milk, naturally. Clinically proven to express more milk than a hospital electric breast pump (Randomized trial comparing the efficacy of a novel manual breast pump with a standard electric breast pump on mothers who delivered pre term infants, compared to equal terms [sequential pumping] in a fixed 20 minute time period. M S Fewtrell, P Lucas et al. MRC Childhood Nutrition Research Center, London, Pediatrics, June 2001). A manual breast pump offers you total control of the suction level and pumping rhythm. The unique Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump also assures you maximum efficiency. The Philips Avent Advantage: Choosing Philips Avent means you have the assurance of superior quality products, designed with you and your baby's needs in mind. Through extensive research and clinical trials, Philips Avent products work effectively together to promote baby's well-being and give you the flexibility to care for a growing baby. You can pump directly into the Avent Bottle or VIA cup for storage in the fridge or freezer and then feed without the need to transfer the milk. Everything you need to operate your manual pump, plus: 1 sealing disc (for milk storage); a helpful guide to breastfeeding. BPA-Free: BPA is bisphenol-A. This product uses polyether sulfone (PES), which is BPA-free and has a natural honey-colored tint. Clinically Proven Effective: Patented massage cushions flex in and out to help gently stimulate the area around the nipple, for a more natural milk production, without nipple soreness. Flexible and Portable: Easy to assemble, efficient and quiet - the perfect pump for use wherever you need it. Helps You Breastfeed Longer: Expression allows breast milk to be available, even when you can't be there. The Avent Bottle with its naturally shaped nipple makes it easier to combine breast and bottle feeding.

This is my 2nd baby, and I didn't appreciate this pump as much the first go around. I used an electric pump and it took awhile to set up and clean and I hated every minute of it. I was sure I wouldn't be able to nurse as long this time. I was debating on which electric pump to purchase when I had to start back to work, so I took along the manual (b/c that was all I had) It has proven to be ideal. I don't have to worry about needing a power outlet. It takes the same amount of time to express (if there is a good suction) and I can pump while my husband drives if unable to stop and nurse. I am about to purchase a second one to streamline the process...Very pleased and would recommend it.

Bought this for my first child, still last for my third. Pretty good for the price. I've bought others and it does not work as well as this one.

This pump is the worst! It was painful to use, didn't pump out a lot of milk, and after washing the parts a few times lost all suction. I could not get my breast milk to come in because this pump did not encourage my milk to drop. It has no suction and after 15-20 minutes I had 2 ounces of breast milk and my hand hurt really bad. The only good thing is that the bottles attach to the pump. I would definitely get an electric pump if you are having problems with breast feeding. This pump will not do the job.

This is ok if you are looking for something to massage your breasts. I didn't like the massaging feature. I didn't like the the postition of the handle of the pump either. My first baby I used it and it took sometime to convince me to try another brand after my first exposure was not good.
