Have only had these installed for about a month, so not able to rate long-term quality. But super pleased with what we have so far. Comes with everything you need to install, no plastic parts. Was originally looking for a darker metal finish lighting set, but couldn't pass up this price and thought I would spray paint them, but then we saw how this color kinda blends into the landscape in the day and keeps things from looking too 'busy'. I also love the light pattern that the glass globes produce at night...a welcome surprise that I never saw mentioned. For the price, I challenge anyone to find better quality and looks.
I have recently moved into a new house that had absolutly no landscaping at all. My wife and I were decorating and adding flower beds on a budget this summer so the cost of these lights was perfect. I assumed that they would be ok but when they showed up we were really surprised at the quality. they are all metal, including the spike that goes in the ground! The globe is all glass! The Power adapter that comes with it has a photo sensor for auto dawn and dusk shut off and also a timer if desired. We like them so much that we sit outside at night on a bench and all of our nieghbors walk by and compliment us on how they look. We may buy another set for the side of the house. I have shopped for a few months and these are the same cost if not less than solid plastic ones that I am sure will not last the Chicago winters. Mine will still be going strong for years to come.
I love these lights. For one reason is that they are not solar. Solar lights just don't work as good as 12V lights. They last a long time with min. amount of maintaince. I have one set that I had for four years and they are still working great. Granted you have to work to assemble them and also to set them up, but once you do, they look great. I priced other 12V lights and they want $200/light. I paid under $70 for 8. I also really like the shipping for 97 cents. I even ordered and extra one just in case if I wanted to add another set somewhere else or keep it as a spare.
got these to replace existing low voltage lights that had seen their day. These were very easy to assemble and the glass coverings protecting the lamps are real glass. I used the existing tranformer and wiring and the lights work great. You'll be hard pressed to find another 8 light set for this money. To seat the cable you mey need to use pliers to crimp the points into the wire. The design fits our Victorian style home.
Bought a set 2 years ago, and liked it so much I bought another. Made of quality metal and Glass globes, they're a great buy. Especially when compared to the cheap plastic type that after a few months, get brittle, chip/ break, lenses turn yellow, etc... (and/ or the dog chews up). Lawn mower wheels/ kids/ dog proof... a quality light set for a great price.
