vtech - v.smile pocket learning system

"Santa" gave my 4 yr old this and he loves it. The batteries that came with it were junk but we have recharables and it works great, no problems. We take it whenever we are going on a trip and anywhere we will be in a waiting area for a while. It keeps him occupied. He has the console in his room and sometimes he sits on his bed and plays the pocket instead. You just have to be sure it doesn't get abused, my nephew had one and he just banged his around and it got thrown in the toy box and eventually quit working so he didn't like it. I make sure ours gets put back in the case whenever my son's finished with it.

I think this is an excellent gift for a child between the ages of 5-8 yearsold. A lot of parents allow their children to play with games that isn't age apporipate and educational. But this is all that and very fun and entertaining. My daugther hasn't put it down since she got it for christmas. My only problem with it, it goes through batteries so quickly. But I really think this is an awesome product. Anything that they come out with that the child can have fun and learn at the same time is great to me. My daughter is 6 and having a little trouble in math and one of the games she has is teaching her math. She gets so excited about it, and runs and tell me what she learned.

I just purchased this for my 3 yr old son for Christmas. My 5 year old daughter received one last year as a gift and now that my son is old enough to "play", they fight over it! Although it is a bit advanced for him (he just turned 3 last month), he still enjoys trying to move the characters around and listening to the music/sounds. My daughter LOVES this and has taken it on many car trips and to the doctor office on many occasions.

We bought the tv console when my son was 1 and he could only play the Elmo, when he turned 2 we bought him the pocket. He has been playing ever since. Now at 4 and a half, he can just now play the game that actually came with it. he has learned so much from it. We had the same problems with the batteries, I ended up buying the recharging station, and it has been WONDERFUL! It seems to last much longer now. My son has dropped it several times and his original Elmo game finally wore out, because he kept pullling it out too hard. I have 4 kids under the age of four and it has withstood all of them trying it out. We are buying another one for one of the younger kids this year. We have just loved it!! Well worth it!!

We bought the v smile pocket for our son about 1 1/2 or 2 years ago. It has lasted very well and trust me, our son hasn't been easy on it. Its even lasting through our newest son whos now 1 and loves to throw things. :) The only downsides are that the screen scratches very easily and that it eats batterys. I use the rechargable ones and I have to recharge them every other day. Over all, it is a very good educational game. We are so happy that we bought it and would definitely buy it again. It is the only game system that has kept the attention of our son. There are tons of games that go with it and they are coming out with new ones all the time so he doesn't lose interest. Its helping him with letters and numbers. I'm so proud of it and him. Its really helped him alot.
