I originally got this die for use with some felt in making 'checkers' for a quilted checker board. I can't believe how many other uses I have found! I use these all the time now to make slip-on wine glass coasters - they make a very quick and easy hostess gift with a bottle of wine!
I used all the circles on this die and also the BIG Circle Die to quickly and accurately cut iron on "basketballs" to fuse onto a donation quilt for a fund raiser. So fast and easy to do and had no problems using the light weight backing on the fabric before cutting; however only did three of these fabric layers at a time, counting the backing as a layer so as not to have problems cutting. Worked perfectly! So happy I had these dies.
I am also a machine embroiderer using a 6-needle machine. The threads rest on 2" round wheels of heavy felt to spin easier. Well, these will disappear over time. I took double faced quilted fabric and cut my own wheels. Fold the wheels in half and cut an X at mid-point to slip over thread spindle and you're set to go. The 2" circle works with mini-king spools and the 4" works with the king-cones.
Ethereal planets have been discovered in my studio thanks to this die!! I have always been very accurate with a rotary cutter, to the detriment of my speed. I'm kinda OCD that way! The Go! dies increase my speed 20 fold. While scissors and rotary cutters will remain in my quiver, I am plotting my Go! die acquisitions carefully so as to save myself maximum cutting time in order to expand sewing time!
I had a pattern that I did with what felt like 1,000,000 circles and I cut and traced them by hand, and I swore I would never do it again... this saved my sanity!!! I have now done that project multiple times and what took me days to cut out takes me minutes now!!!!
