Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Bike Carrier for 1 1/4 in and 2 in Receiver Hitches

Very nice rack. Attaches to your hitch receiver with a single bolt. Very easy to take on or off. If you decide to leave it on, it easily tilts down so you can open your hatch back. I use additional bungee cords to better secure the bikes and to prevent the front wheels/handle bars from moving back and forth. I also use an old rag to wrap around the main stem of the rack so the first bike does not bang up against the rack and get scratched. No need to spend $400 on a rack from a bike shop. Just get this one! I have no complaints

I have not used it on a long trip yet but did take it for a short ride with 2 bikes on it and it seemed to work very good. Very little movement of the rack and bikes.

I bought this after looking at several different Hitch mounted carriers. Some were as much as $300. I decided to take a chance and order this product. My wife and I couldn't be any happier. We use it everyday and it performs as well as my neighbors and he paid $249 for his! He is jealous and wanted to take his back but the bicycle shop wouldn't take it.

I have two Allen Sports 522RR bike racks; one for Florida and the other for Vermont. Even though the racks do not have smooth flowing curvy lines and a yuppy name they get the job done as well as any of the rest and in some cases for only a quarter of the cost. Unloaded or loaded with bikes the racks are held securely in the receiver hitch and do not move around. The bike support arm, when unpinned, will fold down and the whole rack, with or without bikes will pivot down providing some access to the back of my FJ. I would recommend this rack to my mother.

This rack is incredibly sturdy, easy to assemble, and user-friendly. The rounded supports which actually cradle the bike have straps made of cloth that slide through a buckle instead of plastic that you can never quite snap closed. I really like the access to my hatch because the bike rack conveniently folds down (just by removing a pin) - very clever!. Same can be said for the bike supports; when not in use, they also can be folded down vertically to be out of the way. My only difficulty with the installation was that the holes on the hitch did not originally line up with the holes on the rack.
