Amana - 21.4 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator - White

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Amana 33-inch Side-by-Side Refrigerator one of my single family rental property. Right size for a rental property, bit larger than units normally found in apartments, with the double door it looked more suitable for a home, also reasonably priced. Tenants liked it. Hopefully this will last long.

We absolutely love this fridge. We had very limited space because of the cabinet above. We searched and searched. We wanted side by side and Amana was the only major company that thought some of us have older homes we love, and those monster fridges by height won't do. It's in and it's perfect!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first month has had a couple hiccups. The ice maker was not working. Thanks to a YouTube video demonstrating the reset function on a whirlpool product, it started and has been working normally. Also, while the refrigerator has been working fine and keeping consistent temperature, the freezer seems inconsistent. I recently put a half gallon of ice cream in which slowly melted. Other frozen products seem to have stayed frozen. I will continue to monitor the freezer to see if a service appointment is needed. Overall, if the freezer temperature issue resolves, I would say this is a decent product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't want one of the big, chrome monsters on the showroom floors, so I waited a month for delivery of this slightly smaller white one. I like how it looks in my kitchen, but after three weeks with it I am struggling with some issues. I can't get the temperature right—the presets in the fridge side are either freezing some of my food and drinks or, according to my thermometer, hovering somewhere around 43+ degrees. There's no in between. The ice maker is on the loud side, and three times has randomly spit cubes onto the floor when it dumps into the interior bin; the little door isn't strong enough to hold them back. Overall the design of the water and ice dispenser could be easier and less awkward. The price was reasonable but I'm not sure I would choose this make and model again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator about 3 weeks ago and it doesn't get cold enough to make ice. I've had 1 service call and was told to load up the freezer with stuff (food) and see what happens. Amana should replace it. I am not a fan of Amana.
