Apple A Day 15 POUND

I really like this product however, I purchased the 80-day supply and it only lasted about two months. I've been using the provided scoop and following dosing instructions so was disappointed that I didn't quite get what I paid for. That being said the product works really well.

I've been keeping a tub of Apple-A-Day in my car for years now due to the fact that you never know when electrolytes might be needed no matter what time of year it is. I've found Apple-A-Day to be the best bang for your buck and most horses like it either in some moistened grain or in their water - although I have had a few horses resist eating it on their own which is the only reason I gave it four stars in palatability. That being said, because this is such a fine powder, I normally keep a syringe with the tub and will dissolve the powder in the syringe to administer to finicky horses that need the help. The value is unbeatable and unlike many other electrolytes, there is no extra sugar.

I'm an endurance rider, I usually put electrolytes into syringes mixed with applesauce. This product has sodium bicarbonate as an ingredient. This makes the mixture fizzy. The byproduct of that is the syringes build up pressure and the plungers pop out after awhile. Then the mixture goes all over. I do not recomment this product if you plan on carrying it around mixed up in syringes. I've no idea if it works since I was only able to use half of a syring before all the rest of the mix was lost. I won't use it again that way.

I bought this in hopes that the horse I work with would like the Apple-A-Day as I wanted to explore other electrolytes options. Unfortunately, he hated it and refused to drink out of his automatic water with this in it and picked around his food too. Tried to hand it off to serval people in the barn and none of them like this or their horses.

This electrolyte works very effectively in the first few days of use! My horse was not drinking much this winter and now she's drinking full buckets all the time. I put a 1/4 scoop in for my quarter horses feed 2x a day and sometimes get it wet for her. She laps it up every time, it's obviously yummy!
