Great tool to test yourself after 2-3 cocktails... thinking you are good to go...however...the BACtrack S80 test reveals otherwise...Takes away any GUESS work deceiding if you're considering to get behind the wheel...I recommend to all my friends...Thanks to everyone at BACtrack...
I received my replacement breathalyzer, BacTrack Pro 80, several months ago. I don't drink out too much or very often so didn't try it out until recently. Interesting enough, the mouth pieces are a bit bigger which require a larger volume of air..... I have a paralyzed vocal cord and cannot seem to offer the breathalyzer enough flo to make it operate without a considerable amount of effort if at all ...... and my partner has asthma and has documented decreased lung function and was not able to offer enough air with any amount of effort. Any suggestions?
I've used the device for about 40 tests and it's very consistent and precise. I carry it around. However, How to know if it's properly calibrated out of the box? If the readings are consistently lower or consistently higher, consistency becomes irrelevant.
I bought the S80 about a month ago and so far I don't have any complaints with the device itself. It is very precise, but I have no way to test its accuracy, The only complaint I have is in a discrepancy between the specifications listed on the website and the owners manual I received with it. On the website, it says that the S80 has a sensor accuracy of +/- .005 at 0.05% BAC, but the owners manual says that it has a sensor accuracy of +/- .01 at 0.05% BAC.
I consume 3-4 light beers on the back nine and a couple more in the clubhouse after. I have always thought I was good to go and this tool has confirmed that. But if I go much beyond the above mentioned amounts of beer I am quickly in the danger zone. This is something I keep in the car and am glad to have.
