When I first started using this product I was around 16 weeks and for awhile I didn't hear much of anything, except static so instead of holding it with my hand I used my belly band to keep it in place while listening and it worked much better. I never actually heard my baby's heart beat till 18 weeks (which is way earlier than it says I should) and my mother an RN found it for me, it was very soft and quiet but I'm sure it will get louder as baby grows. So overall its an alright product but you need lots of patience..

Well I rushed out and got this when I was about 21 weeks and couldn't even hear my own heartbeat. I knew the directions said 25 weeks, but I was so excited to hear her in my belly. I am now 32 weeks and still have yet to hear anything but my own heartbeat (when placed on my chest) and my stomach growling every once in a while. Even when she kicks right where I have the monitor, I don't hear anything. I was so thrilled to get this but it's caused nothing but frustration and disappointment.

I bought this in my first trimester...the instructions on the INSIDE of the box say that it doesn't really work until your third trimester. I'm eight months pregnant and have yet to hear any baby heartbeat. I THINK I hear baby kicks but who knows. Even in a quiet room with doors and windows shut the microphone picks up cars driving by and the wind blowing outside, a lot of static. Just save your money.

i adore this product. i heard many negative things about it but im PRETTY sure that if you read the directions AND the advice and dont give up after 20 minutes you'll be satisfied as well. i bought this product yesterday, i'm 21 weeks pregnant, and at first all i could make out were kicks, but after a little while of poking around and trying different spots i listened to my unborn son's heartbeat for probably a half hour and it almost put me to sleep. a lot of people keep saying all they can hear is their stomach gurgling but i heard none of that unless i held it to my stomach. holding it to your uterus is a completely different story. read the manual and follow what it says and you'll be satisfied.

Well, this product is wonderful if you intend to listen to the many gurglings of your digestive system. As far as hearing your baby's heartbeat...not so much. I was extremely disappointed when this didn't work. I was also a touch horrified by the sounds my body was making! I can say with great confidence that the noises I was hearing were not that of my child. I gave it five stars for ease of set up however...as far as things that don't work go, putting on the headphones was fairly easy. Save your money and look forward to your OB appointments, where you know without a doubt you are hearing your little angel.
