Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby Vanilla Ice Cream Kosher Milk Cage-Free Eggs, 1 Pint

You changed the formula and it's awful! Grainy, too soft-textured, overly sweet, and any hint of real creaminess is gone!

As a child, during swim class, the swimming instructor told us to mimic an ice cream scoop with our swim strokes. He told us each to imagine that our arms were scooping our favorite flavor of ice cream and he went around asking each of my peers what their favorite flavors were. The less refined children said, "strawberry," "chocolate," or even "cookies and cream." Me? I said "Chubby Hubby." Chubby Hubby is amazing. It's salty, it's sweet, it's chocolatey (but not overwhelming, sickening so!) and it's the best.

I can't remember the first time I tried Chubby Hubby, but from the moment I did, it has been my hands-down favorite ice cream flavor of all time (and this is quite an honor of distinction, as I love many different brands of ice cream and their flavors!). There's just something MAGICAL about the formula of malt vanilla ice cream, with just the right amount of peanut butter and fudge swirling through, and the crunchy chocolate-covered pretzel nuggets embedded within---this combination is something close to ice cream heaven!!! Love digging into the pint, savoring the rich ice cream, and uncovering those awesome chocolate-covered pretzel nuggets---like mining for gold. Please, Ben & Jerry's, NEVER EVER discontinue this AMBROSIAL flavor!!!! And THANK YOU for providing me with such a great experience through your ice cream!!! :)))

I just bought this flavor for the first time in two or three years because I was so upset about the change in pretzels a few years back. While the current pretzels are better than the round ones you had for a while, they still don't compare to the yummy peanut-butter filled pretzels of yesteryear. There must be a way for you to source these?? Pretty please? Also, I noticed that this pint had more chocolate swirl and less peanut butter swirl than in times past. Not a horrible thing, but not great either. The sweet-salty peanut butter swirl is where it's at with the delicious vanilla malt base. Please make it right again? Pretty please? With peanut butter sprinkles on top? ;)

Why tinker with perfection? It appears that Ben & Jerry have changed their "formula" for their classic Chubby Hubby flavor, and in doing so have made it far worse. The ice cream used to be fuller and creamier, with peanut-butter filled chocolate covered pretzels and scrumptious robust chunks/gobs of peanut butter. Indeed, quite decadent! Now the ice cream is more "watery" (almost like skim milk), the pretzels are no longer filled with peanut butter, and the peanut butter is simply thinly swirled. The result: a pale comparison to its former self; not as rich, not as tasty. Tastes very generic now. Skimping... a sign of the times... Will not be buying again.
