The ample, solid brass, porthole frame is tarnish-proof. Nearly flush with the frame, the porthole door gets depth from beautifully solid hinge and pull fixtures mounted on the right and left sides. The barometer face is clean white with graceful black text in classically styled script. The face is cut away around the center stem to reveal a touch of the intricate inner construction.
