This fan was selected and installed by my contractor. Besides being loud and not really that powerful, it is extremely inconvenient to remove 4 screws in order to take the filter and cover down for cleaning. The worst part is trying to put the darn thing back up which would be difficult with an agile, flexible body. Why not use a fastener that doesn't require a screwdriver/drill or gymnastic-level flexibility? I have lost two screws in the process of trying to reinstall the cover and I don't see any way to obtain replacements.
We installed the PM250 in a custom hood about 6 months ago. It's worked well, no major complaints, except that it came without a light bulb or the recirculation filter. Install was fine... custom installs always take some work. On low it's not particularly quiet, on high it is moderately loud. Not as loud as many of the over stove microwave fans I've experienced, but loud enough that you need to raise your voice when at the stove.
Put this PM 250 in my new home. After two years, Blowing Fan fell apart due to poor quality of plastic...Needs to put pins or fasteners to help plastic worn out so fast...
The was a replacement unit which fit nicely into the old opening. I like the night lite feature and the fan may not be completely quite but it is not bad.
We haven't had this product very long but so far we are enjoying it.
