I'm new to sewing and this machine seems easy to use. I like the automatic threader as that's something I've generally had challenges with in the past. There's a couple youtube videos on this machine and they were perfect to helping me figure out how to thread and get started with this machine. The machine itself seems reliable and I'm already using some of the custom stitching.
This is my first computerized machine and I am in love! It's so cool to be able to move the needle position and it's so easy to use. I love how I can see my bobbin also. I am extremely happy over moving the needle. Lately I have been doing a lot of shirring. Because I am able to move the needle, I can do my shirring evenly without having to mark the lines. It's amazing to now how a machine that can do everything that I needed 2 machines for.
It is real nice. Only complaint I have is it's too light. If I lean on it just a bit it tips. If I had known they still made metal machines I would have bought one. The all plastic are just way too light. Picking it up is great but the metal heavier ones are better.
Disagree with members who has skipped stitches, and issues using the 100 plus stitches. BUY ORGAN needles. A few needles were included in package. This machine is wonderful...and walking foot included. You all are wrong with your negative comments. DID YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS?
Im a self-taught person who can use a sewing machine. My first Brother was a gift from my husband 29 years ago. Being a military family I was proud to make pillows, kitchen curtains, Halloween costumes, special occasion dresses, school clothes, military and martial art patches, kitchen curtains, alterations, and now “customized” face masks. There is nothing wrong with that old machine, my husband just got my hints that I wanted the computerized CP100X. My first Brother has served us well with no repairs and no issues. I'm a Holding onto it for sentimental reasons. I was so happy to discover the online and UTube instructions available for us comfortable beginners.I can't wait to create more memories with this beautiful and hardworking family heirloom.
