I got the SM2700 as a starter machine as I didn't know if I was going to enjoy sewing enough to invest in a "better" machine. Well, 5 years later and this thing is still solid and performs like a beast. It was so easy to learn how to use, and threading is simple! Once I knew I was hooked on sewing, thanks to how fun this machine made the learning process, I invested in a Brother Serger. I love how the Brother brand accessories are universal across the family of machines. Yet another reason I love this machine! I have had zero issues with my projects or this machine. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a newbie.... and highly recommend the Brother brand.
It was exactly what I was looking for with the specifications I needed.
It was a little awkward at first because it is small…but wow sews like a charm! Have already done several projects!
