After reading these reviews, had to check my bottle and sure enough in fine print it says NOT for sanitizing or disinfecting. Someone else claims it's in large red print. Maybe it's on newer bottles once Clorox realized their mistake. Now I am stuck with no disinfectant. I ran out of isopropyl a few days ago. No bleach in the store.
I have used Clorox for the 55 years I have been doing my own cleaning, I ams o disappointed that this Splashless Clorox does NOT Sanitize Especially because i just this bottle for the COVID VIRUS so I would not run out in the Crisis!! I WIll NEVER Buy this again!!!
The CDC recommends a 0.12% sodium hypochlorite (main ingredient in bleach) solution to disinfect. This can be achieved by mixing 1/3 cup normal bleach (2-10% sodium hypochlorite) with 1 gallon water. Clorox Splashless bleach is 1-5% sodium hypochlorite, so if you double the amount of the splashless bleach (2/3 cup per gallon water), you will create the same disinfecting ability. Splashless bleach is not registered as a disinfectant with EPA because it was developed for a different purpose - laundry. So, Clorox can't market it as a disinfectant. That doesn't mean it doesn't disinfect (read instructions above). Read your labels and do your research. Thank you for all you do Clorox! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I suspect that Splash-Less Bleach is cheaper to make than regular beach and you figured that most people would not notice the difference and think because it smells like regular bleach that we would assume it would disinfect surfaces the same as regular bleach. Well congratulations, you fooled me. For the past two weeks I have been scrubbing my house with this product to protect my 87 year old mother from COVID19 in case another family member brought it into the house. Learning that my Clorox bleach doesn't disinfect is over the top.
Have been using Splashless Formula to disinfect my kitchen counters for over a year now. Just bought another container to make some DIY disinfectant wipes and now I find out that the splashless DOES NOT disinfect. Paid 3x as much for the splashless and its useless.
