Very pale, so perfect for fair Skin. On darker skin tones, the silver may stand out more, but it's a soft beautiful shade, subtle blue, would be lovely on any skin tone.

I was very disappointed; I order three different Covergirl eyeshadows in Tapestry Taupe because that is the only color I wear. All 3 of the products on the website product description showed the black container which is what I use. All 3 Covergirl products that I received came in a pink container instead of black, it says the color is Tapestry Taupe and it is superlight when applied like a very faint highlight with sparkle. I am very disappointed; they were a waste of money. I have included a photo, the original tapestry tape in the black container is in the center of the container. The eyeshadow in the right container is very sheer when applied to my eyelid.

I've used this color, French Vanilla, for a decade or more. Recently CG took this color off the market and when it returned, they had added big specks of glitter. Originally the finish was luminous or pearl but not sparkly and DEFINITELY not glittery. It used to be a very universally neutral (nearly translucent) color to something almost clownish or for a tween girl. Disappointing for sure.

I have worn Cover Girl French Vanilla eyeshadow for years but cannot find it in stores anymore. I was thrilled when I found it online at Walmart. However, it is not the same product!! The new eyeshadow has sparkles in it and is not good for using on a daily basis for a base shadow. It might be good for New Years Eve, but definitely not to wear everyday.
