Danby Compact Countertop Dishwasher, White DDW611WLED

I chose Danby after reading reviews from all points for over a week. This machine has proved to be low noise, an efficient cleaner and holds lots of dishes. I have a 500 sq ft house and it is not too noisy. I would say this appliance works for families as well as singles or couples. I would also advise buying this well functioning machine before latest EPA regs kick in causing evening longer washing time pauses, which I think reduces effectiveness of all dishwashers in order to save .5 watt of usage per load. Ridiculous.

I bought this appliance for my mom last Christmas, after reading positive reviews. I had to purchase a cart on wheels to put it on as it didn't fit on her counter, but she has an older style counter top & cupboards, but this probably wouldn't be an issue with more modern dimensions. She is also grateful for the extra storage the cart allows for in the basket shelving below. She absolutely loves the dishwasher and uses it almost everyday. She had to start using a smaller dinner plate, due to height restrictions, but other than that, it works like a charm.

This dishwasher holds quite a bit more than I had expected. I love its small size, since I have a very tiny kitchen. I have used several of the wash settings, and have been pleased with the results. I would recommend a name-brand detergent, since the cheapo brand left a film on the glassware.

This dishwasher is perfect for my family of four. Prior to receiving the item, I thought the rack was a stainless steel metal without any coating. The metal is coated so it won't scratch the dishes. I initially worried that my dishes would not fit in the machine (many people complained about this problem). My 10.75" dishes fit in the machine with more than an inch clearance from the top. Maybe other consumers tried to put the dinner dishes in the back areas of the rack and thus had difficulties. Danby instruction states one should put the dinner dishes in the front area. There are six slots for the dinner plates (6-place setting). I experimented with this machine under the following conditions: cheapest detergent (Walmart brand gel), quick rinse before loading into machine, full load, quick wash cycle (45 minutes). Under my test condition, the machine performed with barely any noise and all my dishes came out clean. The dishes were in near dry conditions within 5-10 minutes (post wash cycle). There were no leaks in the hose connection area, but I did put Teflon tape around the threads before screwing the hoses on. I hope this review was informative for you!

I dont like the way some of the soap doesn't disolve out of the cups. I tried a new one by oxiclean and the dishes were clean but the soap didnt wash out of the cups all the way. I even tried less soap and had the same issue. tried one of the tabs like casscade and it disolved so I think it was the soap not the washer. overall I like it.
