The installation manual is very brief and unclear. We were not able to install it at the bottom of our stairs. Screw holes are designed so they are not secure with the screws attached to the knobs. They are seemingly stripped, so any time we tighten/adjust the knobs the right side the left slides out of its place and vice versa. Therefore, the opening of the gate will not narrow enough to activate the magnetic feature. I would return this product, but the store I purchased from went out of business.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So when I first open the packaging I noticed that it was bent out to far for it to be able to latch shut. So I had to fix it before I could even try to use it. There was nothing wrong with the packaging it came in so I don't know if it got damage while it was on it's way in shipping to meor if it was something that happen at the plant before they packaged it into the box. Once I got it all setup and in a door in our house I noticed that I had to help it latch when it would swing back closed. Also the mechanism for the lock is really flimsy, wobbly and wasn't made high quality or throughout really good in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone in my opinion but maybe I just got the lemon out of the bunch of them. I like the swinging door with the magnet closure mechanism, adjustable legs with permanent discs for the legs that get secure to the wall, how study the rest of the gate is made and a pleasant color for the gate.

This Chelsea gate combination kit with the extensions was a great purchase. First of all, purchasing as a kit saved money over shopping around for gates and extenders to fit my large doorway. Secondly, with the included extensions, this gate can be used in other areas of the house if I need to move it. I don't have any kids but wanted a gate to keep the dogs out of my bedroom until doggy 'bedtime'. This way they are not tracking mud into my bedroom or chewing treats and toys apart on my bed - messy! The gate shuts automatically so I don't have to worry about them sneaking in! The gate was pretty easy to put up as it doesn't require any tools. It really looks nice in either my modern bedroom décor on one side or the natural hues and woodsy living room vibe on the other. Although my big dogs 'respect' this gate and don't try to knock it down, it is a very sturdy metal gate.

My wife actually bought this gate online for when the grandchildren often visit. Simple to install but getting the tension dialed in right got tough to turn the discs. It is very sturdy - holds up to my grandson pulling on it. We like the hold open gate to walk through when they are not visiting. Nice looking gate.

With previous great experiences with Dreambaby products, I knew that when our baby started to move around the house it was time to research gates. My wife and I wanted a sturdy and functional gate. We also needed two for both ends of our stairs. We decided on the Chelsea gate based on height and strength. The gates arrived in perfect condition and nicely packaged. I knew that I would have to make some adjustments due to the staircase handrails, no fault by Dreambaby. For the bottom of the stairs I had to remove a piece of molding and the handrail, which I easily recut and re-installed the handrail. The gate installed just as detailed in the instructions. Please don't worry about the gate being bent. As you tighten all the gaps close to function perfectly. The top of the stairwell was a different install. The way the wall and handrail were built I needed to place the gate flush with the last step. This may not be manufacture approved, but the base bar is not in the way and also functions perfectly. Our baby has tried to test the gate by grapping and shaking the gate, and the gate does not move. It's sturdy just like we wanted. I enjoyed installing the gate and am thankful to Dreambaby for an outstanding product that most importantly keeps our baby safe. What more could you ask for?
