All 4 batteries had leaked before I even opened the package up. I don't have my receipt so I can't get my money back. I see a bunch of other reviews on the internet are saying the same thing about their packages of Duracell. Where's the Quality Control?
Duracell has always been my choice of battery to use. Unfortunately, in the last 6 months, I have had 2 unopened packages with an expiry date 2025, corrode. At first I thought it was how I stored them in the package. But that isn't the case. I'm keeping them in a cool, dry place. Then, a couple of batteries I just put in a remote a month ago, leaked and there was a white powdery dust inside the cover of my remote, with some kind of leakage down inside where the batteries were. Brand new batteries did this! These aren't small packs of batteries I am buying either. I'm going to a club and buying the large packs of batteries. Guess I'll be switching. I can't have unopened batteries corroding or new batteries leaking.
Using Duracell for over 30 years. Was in public safety so lives depended on batteries. During the past few years our devices have been damaged by leaking batteries and actually were still holding power. Flashlight batteries leak during short term storage, and electronics would still work, but the batteries leak. Something changes as this was never an issue years ago. Now it's almost a guarantee the batteries will leak. AAA are the worst with C right behind. 9 bolt seem to be the only ones that don't leak.
I have bought Duracell Coppertop Alkaline batteries for years, paying more than for other brands. Lately they have an annoying habit of leaking, even while in their original packaging and well before expiration dates. I have a lot of batteries I am going to throw out as I search for another brand. I have complained to the company, in response to which I have been asked a number of questions about original packaging and where and when I bought my batteries. I don't have all the information, only the batteries that have not expired but have leaked.
I have purchased and used Duracell batteries all my life on the premise that paying a little extra I could get a quality product. I never had a problem with corrosion ever. Many times batteries would be in use for years without leakage. Then I noticed that Duracell batteries I was using came from China and I also took notice to excessive leaking and corrosion, often when the batteries had only been in use a short time. Often the leaking batteries had dates for shelf life for years. They have not only ruined ordinary flashlights but also expensive cameras, remotes, computer equipment, etc. I will now be changing to another brand any brand will be better than Duracell.
