Dyson DC14 - Vacuum cleaner - upright - bagless

I've looked and bought so many vacuums in my life time so far. I believe I've bought the latest and gratest vacuum about every 2-3yrs. ... BUT.... This product is worth a moment to express to those that are looking for a vacuum that works for bare floors and carpet/rugs then this is the one for you. I hate to vacuum and feel the partical that should be sucked up in the vacuum kicked back and hitting my feet. YUCK... This vacuum has the capability to switch the roller brush off when vacuuming the floor. It's wonderful to vacuum the whole house and not feel any particals hit your feet. The best part is seeing how much sand/dirt that it pulls up out and thur the rugs at the door and throughout the house. The cleaning of the vacuum is so simple and love the fact that you don't have a bag to clean and the canister with the filter within the canister can be cleaned with water. There is a Hepi filter keeps the oder down. "no more stinky vac after a using it for several months - which will make me throw out a vacuumer even though I clean it out at every use. Not this one." After I'm done vacuuming, I feel the house is clean. If you have an issue with mopping then try the Shark Steam mop... you will love the combination of this vacuum cleaner and the Shark Steam mop. Purchase this item with no hesitation. It's worth the money. This vacuum is quieter than a normal vacuum. The suction is great and since I live on a farm with dirt hanging on jeans cuffs when people come in... it very important that I keep the floors clean. The cord is long (not short like others have stated on the other Dyson vacuums). There is a warranty that gives you an 800# to call and if they can't fix it over the phone then they will replace it. With two black lab puppies and white carpeting in our house it is necessary to vacuum several times a week. Using our old vacuum it would take half an hour to vacuum just one room because there was so much hair and it just wasn't picking it up. My husband became so irritated with the old vacuum one night he begged me to go get a new one. I like to read the reviews on items before I make an important purchase and this dyson had the best reviews. I wasn't too thrilled about spending this much on a vacuum cleaner but my husband insisted on it because the reviews said it was so great. The reviews were absolutely right-this vacuum is worth every penny!! The dyson picks up all the hair and dirt in one swipe and makes the white carpet look brand new. I like the handle that turns into a detachable hose and the fact that I can easily use the vacuum on bare floors and the attachments work great. The vacuum has awesome suction too. Be careful not to go over a snag in the carpet or rug though because its powerful suction pulled the barely there snag in our rug into a foot long piece, although it didn't ruin the rug at all. Emptying the vacuum is so easy too. I can't imagine a vacuum that could work better than this.

I live with 3 cats, 2 dogs, my spouse, and a toddler in a desert area. I literally have to vacuum my house and furniture daily; sometimes more than once a day. I have owned more vacuums than I care to admit too. First day I brought my dyson home I vacuumed my house with my older vacuum then went over it with the dyson. The difference was so noticeable. I had to empty the canister after every room. I would by another dyson every year if that is how often it broke. The job it does is well worth the price.

This vacuum is THE best vacuum i am actually excited to vacuum the house now because everytime the little plastic thing gets filled up just from one room the only thing that could have been made a little better is the hose its really stiff and when you pull it around the vacuum follows and falls over sometimes. (a helpful hint for when using on area rugs is to put it on bare floor mode then it wont make the disturbing sound)

A friend told me I had to try this vacuum. I did my whole house w/ my old vacuum then went back over everything w/ my new Dyson. The amount of dirt it picked up was unbelievable (disgusting actually)! I was unsure of a bagless vacuum, but it contains all of the dust and doesn't bother my allergies or asthma!
