I had a flap servo stick in a slightly up (crow) position. Repeatedly exhibited that behavior on the ground as I connected the battery. Can't be trusted in my new Carbon Cub SS. Horizon replaced the servo after I complained, but I don't trust it, given the other negative reports here. Will look for a Hitec replacements for all servos in the Cub. The Cub is a fabulous airplane and I don't want to have a catastrophic servo failure in the air.
This is the stock servo for the carbon z Cessna 150 float kit. The servo gets wet and dies. I replaced it, waterproofed it and it still only lasted about 10 flights. It is a crap servo. Looking for something better to fit in that odd servo tray.
These are the worst servos I have ever come across for a number of reasons. It is just a matter of time and they will cause a problem. If you care about your model replace them all. Horizion is on of my favorite CO's, this is a disappointment for me.
This is the stock servo to the Apprentice I bought to modify for aerotowing small gliders. When I plugged the plane in for the first time the servo would not return to center. Move either up or down elevator and the servo will not return to it's center point but always leaving the elevator about 1/4" short of center in both directions. I have replaced the elevator servo with a Hitec HS-81 (that has just slightly more torque and a tad bit more weight). Rotation was the right direction and the servo seems to be centering just fine. The receiver is still the original SAFE receiver that is stock to the Apprentice.
