After putting down 18 bags of the brown and white bagged product, I found that it contains a very large amount of sand. When watered, the sand rises to the top and you have a bed of sand in with grass, if any grass comes up. If you look closely at the product, you will see the sand granules mixed in with the dirt. Sand costs less than quality soil, so I guess that is why they can sell it at a much lower price that good topsoil. It took a while, but I learned my lesson. As someone has already posted here, 'you get what you pay for', and this product is not good topsoil at all. Spend a few more dollars and get dirt, not sand, for your lawn.

I picked up 30 bags of this to level out some spots in my back yard. The store I usually buy from was closed, and I needed it in a hurry. I laid out all of the bags. The "dirt" was very compacted and hard to get apart. After a good rain the following day, it showed the reason why. Nothing but sticks and rocks! Now I have to rake my backyard to get all of the rocks out so I don't mow over them and hurt someone. Terrible product. You can get a lot better top soil for a cheaper price point.

Exactly what my title says .75cfm and it's about 20lbs per bag and it's nothing more than gritty sandy dirt that looks like it was taken out of a construction site with a backhoe. It's cheap but it's not very good at all, it washed away on my yard and the grass seed that I put down there didn't take at all until I supplemented it with -real- topsoil. It might be okay for an unfinished lawn that you just need to level, but this was full of sticks and rocks.

I removed a pond from my yard and was looking for cheap dirt to fill it. I came across this today and went to the store to purchase it. I have to purchase in multiple trips because the bags are pretty heavy. My first trip I purchased 6 bags. I must say there was nothing but moist dirt in all 6 bags. No trash, twigs, rocks or foreign matter of any kind. I was so happy to find this so cheap as it's a big project for me and I have limited funds.

I bought 40 bags of the cheapest topsoil Wal-Mart had. Only one of them wasn't up to par. I got 39 good bags and one clumpy mess. I'll take those odds, especially considering how much it would cost to have topsoil delivered.
