Ensure® Plus Vanilla Oral Supplement, 8 oz. Carton

My husband is recovering from throat cancer surgery and has been unable to eat many of his favorite foods due to swallowing difficulties. He started out drinking five bottles a day and with slow progress of eating some foods, now drinks three bottles a day . He is a four year survivor. I use Ensure Plus for extra calories because I have Crohn's Disease. Its the perfect size to drink with a meal to add nutrients not always absorbed with the meal. It also tastes great as compared to the other like products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I am using Ensure plus to help regain weight as a supplement to meals. No problem with taste but does weigh a little heavy on my stomach at times so I find sipping it helps. Can be a little constipating but I just increase my fluid intake. So far have increased my caloric intake and between the Ensure Plus I am regaining the weight I lost.

My 17 year old son has been drinking Ensure Vanilla his whole life, Pedisure as a child. The new recipe for the vanilla is not tolerable and he can not stand to even drink it. It's expensive and it's a shame to waste the two cases I just bought, but the new recipe is not palatable. We will be trying another product, perhaps Equate which I've heard is similar to the old Ensure recipe.

I was introduced to Ensure Plus after I had a cancerous growth removed from my throat, then radiation and chemo therapy for 30 days. I couldn't eat solids and Ensure Plus was recommended. I tried it and loved it. I drank 6 bottles a day. It helped stabilize my weight (had lost 50 lbs prior to surgery). I highly recommend it. I still am using it daily, along with solid food in order to gain weight.
