I wish I had looked at the 1 star reviews. This is my first review ever written for something I bought, this is how disappointed I am. Car seat is absolutely so snuggly that your infant will outgrow before he or she is ready for front facing carseat and the stroller is complete piece of junk. It has embarrassed me so many times in public because the front wheel does not turn or straighten easily, I have to pick up the whole stroller and turn the direction mostly. I wish I could get my money back.
The Evenflo stroller is pretty advanced in the safety features they put into it. Locking breaks, velcro straps lock/listen for click bars and wheels. It came in a pretty large box and was carefully wrapped and packed which was nice. The instruction that came with the set were easy to understand and were helpful when I was trying to unhindge/unfold the stroller. The car seat snaps into place into the seating area of the stroller with the child facing the person in control of the stroller. Added features include sun tops for both carseat and stroller, see through "window" to watch baby/child, close wheels in front for better turning points, easy clean fabric that has plenty of cushion. The storage basket below is roomy for groceries or baby supplies. Stroller handle has no slip grip and more areas for drinks, keys and bottles. The safety harnesses in both car seat and stroller are strong but do not feel like they would chafe babies skin. The harness click locks into place and has a neat little gadget that alerts the driver that a baby is in the car through a little alarm system that can be inserted into your car (depending on model of vehicle). Pros: 2 part travel system for road or walking Wheel breaks Chest harness on both items lock sturdy Easy clean fabric Some cushions can be removed to throw in washer/hang dry Baby in car alert system Front wheels are easy to turn tight corners Back wheels are large and wide for less falling over Wheels get great traction and are thick rubber Hefty amount of storage Viewing windows, shade covers Cons: The alert system works only in specific cars..however the manufacturer says that you can request a device that will help adapt it to your vehicle(specific years)and I do not believe they will charge you for it. Otherwise a nice duo set for boy or girl.
We are using this for our upcoming third child. Due to this, we are extremely experienced parents of baby products. We know what to look for and what works for us. So, when we received this product, we got pretty thorough on our review going over both the following 9 pros and 6 cons. === PROS: 1.) This was a very large package. Everything was packaged nicely with plastic bags covering the stroller, carrier, tray, and base. Styrofoam was used for areas that had metallic parts. 2.) According to the instruction manual, every part needed for the system was listed and each step looked as if assembly was going to be required. THIS WAS HARDLY THE CASE as assembly was quite easy! The wheels and axles already came assembled; it just needed to be popped into the stroller. Same with the food tray and the canopies; it just needed to be snapped in. The basket, handlebar, and fabric required no assembly as it was already put together and still packaged nicely. Assembly is very intuitive regardless of mechanical skill. 3.) The frame itself feels sturdy and nice. The plastics were tough – basically, the same grade that you would expect from your run-of-the-mill stroller and carrier. Any metal part seemed heavier than aluminum and lighter than steel. I couldn’t exactly tell you what it was without opening up the manual. I just know that it was sturdy, too. 4.) Fabric feels nice. In some areas, it had the texture of either a tough windbreaker or a thin duffle bag – durable and easy to clean. In other areas, soft and plush to keep the baby warm, snug and jiggle-free. Finally, in the footrest area, when it is more suited for a toddler to sit facing forward, it was rubbery and seemingly easy to clean where his feet would rest. The system we had was black or charcoal with other areas being a darker grey. It’s modern and trendy. I think the darker tones are fine to use here in Las Vegas during the colder months, but I may be changing my tune in the summer when we have +100 degree weather with the sun melting your face off! 5.) It has a huge basket!! This is a huge plus, especially if you are a first time parent. When we were first time parents, we were always proponents of carrying as much baby-related gear with us at all times. We’ve learned our lesson since then and have really cut down on the amount of stuff we tow around – but, you will never, ever regret having a larger-than-usual basket to throw the random toy or blanket in. 6.) The SensorSafe technology is a nice touch! It basically has a little chime that goes off when a moving vehicle has finally come to a stop, engine and ignition off reminding you that the car seat is still fastened. I assume that there is an RFID in there that is picking up an open or a short in the buckle. I only tried the seat in the second row, but I do wonder how it would respond with it being in the third row of a minivan where it would be farther away from the sensor plugged in at the ODBII (by the way, the manual says you can only use this on 2008 or newer vehicles and that you need to call the manufacturer to get some additional device for hybrids). My dilemma with using this is that I had to remove another device I had plugged into the ODBII port (I believe it was part of my security system or maybe even audio – I just don’t remember). So, maybe that is a consideration for other parents out there. Anyway, I am sure it is fine in the third row. 7.) Very easy to push – even single-handedly. The single wheel in the forward position makes it a little easier to push with one hand. 8.) Food tray can open in either direction or be completely removed. This is nice because I have been in situations where it would be nice to have it open from another side. 9.) Folding it into a stowed position isn’t too bad. You have to pull up on a tab that is located almost dead center of the stroller. I really, really like how it stays all propped up when you fold it up. Just consider being in a restaurant and you need to stow your stroller in a tight space, but it can’t hold itself up. This one can. === CONS: 1.) Maybe I am just not getting something, but it seems like the canopy on the car carrier itself isn’t opening correctly. The most forward bar or arch of it tends to retract itself and not completely pull forward even though it gives the appearance that it would be able to move up a little more. 2.) This is just nitpicking, but even though the canopy of the stroller is made up of a nice, sturdy fabric with what seems to be a plastic insert at the end closest to the handlebar, it completely gets in the way of holding the handlebar when it is retracted. You need to move it forward at least one position to get it out of your way or anything else that you carry in the cupholder area. 3.) I am not a huge fan of how erect the stroller seat is when you recline it to its lowest position. It’s as if this system is designed by a tourist that wants to be sat up and ready to see everything at all times. I would prefer if I could lay this down almost perpendicular to the floor so that my kids could rest. 4.) This isn’t too much of a big deal, but the stroller doesn’t have the option to open up/fold out a barrier at the bottom to convert it into a bassinet. I would recommend that feature even though it hardly gets any use because your child will grow so fast that it won’t matter. 5.) The wheels are made of a hard, hollow plastic which is perfect for hard surfaces. However, I can already tell that if I ever were to try to roll this through any type of dirt, I am going to have a hard time pushing through. This usually isn’t a problem, but if you ever find yourself going through a park that is mostly gravel or dirt, you might be wishing you had a different stroller with larger diameter, rubber wheels. 6.) When inserting the carrier into the stroller, it doesn’t really snap unless you rock it back first or unless you manually push the locking mechanism. A forgetful parent would probably neglect that and if they’re not securing it using the safety strap, then the baby could be harmed. Perhaps some regular use will loosen up that part to the point where it will begin to snap more easily. === At the end, I am happy with the Evenflo Advanced Sensorsafe Epic Travel System. It serves its purpose, is modern looking, easy to stow and has a neat technology that I probably won’t use, but it’s cool to know that it is there if I ever wanted to. But let me clarify about the sensorsafe technology – I may not use it ONLY because my current kids have trained me enough throughout the years to never leave anywhere without them. For first time parents though, getting this will probably be a REALLY good idea. Better safe than sorry!
I recently got the Evenflo Advanced SensorSafe Epic Travel System from Walmart to review – and let me say that we love it! I would 100% recommend this to anyone. It has plenty of cushion which makes baby happy, that in turn makes for happy parents! It has superior support for head and rest of body. I love that there's "buckle storage" can be used for a couple things…one so you don't lay baby on them, or two so when car seat is not in use the sun doesn't make the metal hot enough to burn baby while trying to buckle in. Aside from the car seat itself, I love the wonderful sensor that tells if the baby isn't buckled and is still in car. I'm still working on the chimes and syncing and all (not that I would forget baby). All-in-all although it is large and rather bulky, this product is truly amazing! Thanks Walmart and Evenflo!
