I buy Fellowes because it is supposed to be top of the line. This is my third Fellowes shedder in three years. I use it a few times a week to shred mail of anything that has personal information on it. I have had to purchase a new one every year. I doubt it can handle a home office if it can't handle envelopes and labels.
I like the fact that the machine doesn't run when paper is not being fed into it. Others run constantly until you unplug it. I also like the cross shred feature. It allows the paper to be completely destroyed, which is what we want! The top part is which shreds is heavy and substantial. It seems as if it is built for durability. I am happy with my purchase!
Picked this up because it was the best option for my office of what was available. I am more than satisfied. It works great, doesn't over heat, and no issues with jamming.
This Powershred H-7C product and over past year's have had, used many. I would highly recommend for the very reasonable price on a well quality made product that works and operates just as it should and made too, for me I do think believe is a great pick.
If you're looking for a paper shredder that will mulch your files, this one can't be beat for the price. However, I don't recommend putting your credit cards or cds through here. It could chew them up, but my experience has been that it will shorten the life of all but the most industrial shredders. The teeth won't go, but the gears do. The other issue is that if you don't empty the container on a regular basis, the shred head will get paper clogged in there when the pile reaches the top., which requires pulling it out with a needle nose pliers. Once clear, it's back to its old self, chopping old files, credit card applications and medical records into tiny 1" pieces that are completely unreadable. If you limit your feed to 1-3 sheets at a time, remove paper clips, and empty often, this should give you years of quality service.
