Filtrete 3US-AS01 Undersink Filter System

Received this as a promptional item. Didn't think a small under sink filter would be effective but since free decided to try it. Installation was very easy. Water and coffee taste better. Filter has lasted 4 months so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I live in Harrison, NJ, and have been drinking bottled water for a long time, got tired of hauling bottles every week, and decided to give this a chance after much debate with spouse...guess what? After buying lots of spare plumbing supplies that were not included in the Filtrete Faucet that I purchased and after hours of hard work, the water tastes bad, hardly been drinking it. The package recommends to let 10 Gal water run after filter install, but we have let more like 25 Gal. run in the hope that the taste will improve. I'm thinking of moving to something else that tastes better. If Filtrete reads this, please recommend if there's anything I'm supposed to be doing that I'm not doing (Ex. run another 100 Gal., or if Harrison, NJ water is extremely poor quality, etc etc.), and I will update or remove this bad rating. Thanks.

This filter works well, is easy to install, and is very affordable. The water is clearer, cleaner, and tastes better. I was hesitant at first to use a filter that works through the main faucet, but at this price point, and the fact that it only filters the cold water, and lasts for 2000 gallons, I went ahead and am so glad I did. Now I use not only for drinking water, but also in the humidifier and everything else, without the chlorine smell and hopefully no more calcium build up. Only took about 30 minutes to install, and no leaks. Good connection system, easy to understand. An excellent investment for your home.

I have had this system for four years and it is fantastic. Very easy to change the filters. We have a lot of iron in our water and with this system, you would never know it. The last system I had the water just trickled out. This comes out with so much presure, it fills the glass in no time. I definetly recomend the Filtrete system to everyone.

My only complaint is that faucet adapter didn't fit my new single handle kitchen faucet. Had to purchase a 5/8" compression, male-male connector to connect to the cold water hose coming out the bottom of faucet spout. Faucet adapter supplied is for old style faucets.
