Freshness Guaranteed Sliced Fruit Cake, 13 oz

I bought this fruit cake yesterday because the one I normally buy every Christmas is out of stock.. I will never buy this again it was terrible tasting..

It was fresh and moist but there is an aftertaste and it lacks the richness of other brands. I think they need more vanilla extract, butter, and/or brandy in their recipe. It does have all the nuts fruit though,

I looked all over for this stuff. Sadly they're becoming less popular. My 80 y/o mother loves this stuff and has been eating it since childhood so she's kinda an expert. She says these are VERY GOOD. So good she eat half the loaf at one time. She has a small appetite so this should tell ya something. Distribution of fruits and nuts vary per package so, make you get what you want. My mom likes nuts so I picked up a nutty one.

This fruitcake is made by Bensons from Bogart Ga and is the best. It not only looks like their labeled version, but I called the factory and they confirmed it. I have enjoyed their product for over 50 years. I keep an opened package in the refrigerator in a zip locked bag and it actually gets more moist than when first opened and keeps for many months. Since it's seasonal and hard to find, I buy a years supply and keep the rest in the freezer. I suspect it will maintain quality frozen for over a year. Once set out to defrost, it's just like it was fresh from the store. First picture shows old Benson's box I keep the refrigerated ziplock bag in to keep it fresh. If you like fruitcake, this is it.

I like nearly all fruitcake. This is the first one I've ever returned. Yuck! There is very little flavor to it. I was so disappointed, because I was craving fruitcake, and this was affordable.
