Graco - Alano Stroller, Ally

After 4 months of ownership, I had to use 2 hands and a lot of strength to collapse the stroller. With a new baby, that is awfully hard to do. I have had this stroller for 11 months now and the other day I couldn't even collapse it! I spent 15 minutes trying and trying to collapse the thing and I couldn't. I am so disgusted and disappointed.

I purchased this stroller for my third child. I am returning it. I had a Graco Quatro Tour stroller in the past that was FANTASTIC, the Alano, however, fell short. Here's how: The extra large basket is a great size and it does drop down for easier access which I feel is important; however, my experience indicates that the times in which you will need to drop the basket down are when the seat is reclined bc the seat in this position restricts access. Think about this: if the seat is fully reclined, it is most likely because your baby is SLEEPING. With the Alano stroller, when you drop down or pull up the basket it makes a VERY LOUD clicking noise....most likely too loud for your slumbering baby to sleep through. STRIKE ONE. The canopy is great and will work great when you have your baby in the infant seat because you can close the two canopies together to cover baby from sun or elements; however, when your child is big enough to sit in the stroller seat the canopy will no longer be as useful since it does not rotate. If the sun is not high enough or wind/rain/snow is at the wrong angle, it hits your child right in the face and you have no way to shield him/her. A 180 degree rotating canopy is much preferred for this reason. STRIKE TWO. The reclining seat does recline, but not with easy. The strap system that Graco has used on the Alano is cheap, flimsy and will most likely wake a sleeping child if you try to adjust the position. There are countless times when a mother is strolling her baby and he/she falls asleep in that awkward-kink-in-your-neck kinda way. Moms across america will move to make their babies comfortable by lowering the seat when this happens. With the Alano, the seat is supported by only a piece of cardboard in the back which means baby will feel your hand as you try to lower the seat with the cumbersome strap and for that matter if you do try to click click click the basket down to reach your bag and the bag rubs against the seat, baby will feel that too. STRIKE THREE. The Alano is out. I appreciate Graco trying to make a lighter weight stroller, but in this case it is at the cost of quality. I would stick with the Quattro Tour System - they had it right 7 years ago!

The stroller worked great until 6 months after. The top, "one hand" folding handle got stuck and stopped working. We tried to fix it but couldn't. Called Graco customer service, and they were very helpful. We will get a brand new one, but will not get the color of my choice. They said they will send me a girl fashion travel system. They will also send a FedEx prepaid label. The only thing is I have to send the whole thing back and I will be without a stroller and car seat for 3-5 days!!!!! Wish they could send it faster than that....oh well at least I'll get a new one.

I loved this system when I first got it, but the wheels lock, as others have said. The stroller has not folded properly for us since we got it, the wheel axle is rusting out, and now the brakes don't work. I really expected a lot more from a Graco product. Very disappointed. I expected this to last A LOT longer than a year and a half.

My husband bought this stroller for our 1 year old daughter and I love it! We had it shipped to our home, and I think it took only 3 or 4 days to get here, in perfect condition. The instructions for assembly were simple and took us 10 minutes tops to put together. My daughter loves riding in this stroller and it rides smoothly over bumps and on grass and such. I would definitely buy it again if needed.
