I bought this a month ago and I really like the product!
The Graco Relay Click Connect Travel System is so smooth on the run. It works well on all types of terrain, from flat to rocky surfaces. This system comes with pneumatic tires, locking front-swivel wheel with tracking and a great suspension system which gives you that smooth ride and easy control as you jog. It has built in shocks which really makes a difference if you are planning to jog with a stroller. The reflective, tech-fabric definitely aids in the safety for both you and your child while traveling by adding visibility in low light settings. It comes with an infant car seat, designed for infants from 3-35lbs and up to 32 inches to ride rear-facing in the car and of course you are able to connect it to the stroller. As your child grows, you do not have to upgrade your stroller because it can seat a child up to 50lbs. The stroller itself weighs 28lbs and has an one second, one hand fold system which makes it so much more convenient for parents who can use an extra hand. This system offers an extra large storage basket on the bottom, deluxe parent storage console, a cup holder, phone pocket, and my favorite, a zippered storage. With the zippered storage, I can feel confident in bringing some cash, credit card or keys and know it won't fall out of the stroller while on the run. The protective canopy offers UV50 protection outdoors and you have the option to extend it. The extension can add about another few inches and you can always use extra coverage. For comfort, the stroller and infant seat has generous padding and you can adjust the reclining seat into multiple positions. The back wheels has a one step lock which locks both wheels at the same time so that you don't have to activate one lock at a time. Appearance is definitely a plus. The Graco Relay Click Connect Travel System has a great looking design and gives an extremely smooth ride. This system is great for a jog or just a simple errand trip.
This is the first Graco product that I liked. I have own a classic connect travel system and it did not impress me to the least bit. The child tray of the stroller touches the ground when it is folded and it gets all scratched and dirty after a while. The infant seat has really really short harness strips that my baby grow out of it when he was 15 pounds, even though the seat was supposed to be for 30 pounds babies. I really hated both of them. However, I think Graco really stepped up and saved itself with this Relay Travel System. It is absolute a delight to use and maneuver. Being a person trying to avoid direct sunlight (I have a good reason: it ages me!), I go for walks in the evenings in my community. Therefore, I really appreciate the reflective harnesses that could tell the incoming traffic where I am and not to hit me. The suspension system is pretty unbelievable too. We have tried taking the stroller on the grass and up and down the curbs, it worked like a charm without waking up the baby. The coverage of the sunshade is very well, I would say that when I have to take it out during the day, it would definitely keep the sun from shining directly onto my baby's face. As for the infant seat, I like the fact that it also plenty of cushion and the harness comes in decent length that it can be used for a bigger baby. Mine is 24 pounds now and it can fit in it without any problem. I don't think I will put the car seat in the stroller though. This is because it gets too heavy for my to lift after I put the baby in it. And I am sure the armrest bar is strong enough to hold the seat but it just looks flimsy to me. But that is just me. The only reason that I took a star off the rating is that for a stroller with so many thoughtful design features and sold at such a high price, I would expect it comes with an air pump. Even my $10 yoga ball comes with one! (Of course I can't use that one to air up the bicycle tires on the stroller because of obvious reasons, if that what you are thinking). Anyway, I was very excited when I first received stroller. It was assembled it right away. I got all geared up to take it out for a walk, only to find out that the tires were not inflated! Imagine my disappointment :(.
So far we really like this travel system. The stroller is a bit wider than most mid-weight strollers, but because it's a jogging stroller there are some trade offs. The stroller is a great jogging stroller and feels very well made. Its very sturdy and even has shock absorber springs on the back wheels. The best part is that it opens up and closes up with one hand, you just pull on one strap near the seat. And the carseat clicks in and out really easily with one hand. The stroller is smooth, but the front wheel is a little stiff to steer. I'm hoping with a little more air in the front tire it will turn easier. The handle is very comfy and nice and tall for my husband and me. He is 6' and I am 5'7”. The storage basket below is easy to get to and there is a soft storage pouch for drinks and phone or other small items that hangs under the handle. The stroller does not have a snack tray for the kid but does have a soft cup holder, and we've never really used the trays on other strollers we have had. The carseat is also well made. We've previously used a Chicco KeyFit and Maxi Cosi and this is equivalent. It clicks in easily to the base and the base is the same to install as any other I've used with the latch system. My one complaint with the carseat is that the car seat base tends to shift when using the seatbelt strap instead of the latch system. The plastic center piece that the seat belt wraps around is too high and circular, so the base wants to rotate. We've read the instructions, installed it correctly and made sure to lock the seatbelt, but it doesn't help. I plan to call Graco to discuss this with them and see if they have a fix for this. For now we've just moved the infant car seat base from the third row to the second row in our van because it has the latch.
To begin with I want to let it be known that I received the Graco Relay Click Connect Travel System Through the Spark Reviewer program for an honest unbiased review and that's what I plan to give which is easy with the quality and functionality of the system. To start with I'll list the Pros and then go to the Cons which are few and far between. In the last 45 years I have dealt with many different strollers and a few joggers for my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends children and with all the options that come with this system none have come close. From setup to actual use it was easy and was designed to really cover all needs. Once I pulled it out of the box it took less than 5 minuets to assemble. Pop on the wheels, snap on the canopies, and Velcro on the extra cup holders and your done. Something I have never seen before is a suspension system on a stroller/jogger. Believe it or not it has shocks. With the sensitivity on the shocks and the cushy wheels it is softer ride than my car. The carrier compartment is large and carries more than any other stroller/jogger I've seen with no balance problems. The quick release for the stroller and the car couldn't get easier. Now the Cons. Being a father with a family money does get tight and this would be out of my price range. If you can afford it you cant get better in my opinion but I would like to see it in a lower price range more people can afford because its an outstanding product and everyone wants the safety for their kids that this affords. Also even though this folds up super easy it is still kind of large due to the size of the wheels, keep in mind it is more than worth the inconvenience because it still fits in even smaller cars and with all the extra features you wont be sorry you bought it.
