HART 20-Volt Cordless 1/4 Sheet Sander Kit, (1) 2.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the finest cordless palm sander that I have ever purchased. With the battery attached, it is a balanced weight. All the energy is directed to the sandpaper and not to my hand. It prevents that itchy palm feeling after sanding for a while. The 1/4 sandpaper sheet size is great as you can buy full size sheets and fold to cut into quarter size to save money. The option to connect a vacuum to it is also great as it helps minimize clean up time.

I had a sheet of plywood I had just put up in my kitchen to prevent my cats from scratching the wall behind it. My wall is heavily damaged and I'm not a carpenter. The sheet of plywood was fairly rough and for fear of my cats receiving splinters, this sander came in clutch. At first, I was slightly confused by the way to attach the sand paper (didn't help I was running on not much sleep haha) but then I figured it out and it was extremely easy! This sander felt very light and comfortable in my hand while sanding the plywood. The sander is relatively quiet compared to other sanders I have heard. The included dust bag is nice, I did try it out and it collected the majority of the dust. However I opted to complete my sanding using my Hart 20 volt 2 gallon shop vac. It attached just fine to my sander and sucked all the saw dust away. Even better to have the vacuum right there to suck up the remaining saw dust. I really do enjoy the remodeled batteries. Having a battery life indicator on the 2Ah battery is essential and lets you keep an eye on your battery life. And know how much juice is left in the battery when you need it next. This kit is a must for anyone working with wood! It does an amazing job and will be even more amazing pair with larger 20 volt batteries for larger projects!

Everything stated here is true and representative of my experience. This sheet sander gets the job done and has plenty of power to do so. At first I was a bit hesitant on it because I wasn't seeing much material removed since there wasn't much dust, but then I remember it has a catch bag. Once I removed it, it was surprised by how much it had actually collected in such a small amount of time!! I normally don't use sheet Sanders because I always struggle with putting the sheet onto the clips, but with this Hart one, it makes it easier. It has an arrow with a number 1 to tell you which side to latch on first and it made it way easier to attach the sheet onto it. The fact that mine came as a kit makes it even easier to get started right out of the box. The new 2ah battery has a level indicator so it makes it easier to tell when to you should grab a new battery before it dies on you mid-project. It comes with a few sanding sheets to get you started as well so that's a nice detail from Hart as well. The grip is very comfortable compared to other sheet sanders. I am happy to have this Hart sander in my tool arsenal and if you're looking for a new sander, check out this sheet sander.
