Torin Jacks 2 Ton Bottle Jack for Car Repair

I always kinda wanted a bottle jack. They're compact, but I can't remember ever using one in any of my cars (except maybe an old pickup). I got this Hyper Tough bottle jack, but I was disappointed to find it didn't really work with our cars nor our minivan. Today's cars all come with scissor jacks. You're only supposed to jack them up at specific points on the chassis (just behind the front wheels or just in front of the back wheels). The jack points have a tab that isn't really stable on the bottle jack's tiny head, but scissor jacks have a cutout for this tab. You could get under the car and use the bottle jack on the frame, but I don't recommend it--in part because you won't really have room to use the tiny handle. BUUUT, this bottle jack proved itself a lifesaver in a matter of days. My deck is about 17 years old. One of the joists had backed out and began sagging, causing quite a dip in the floor. I tried prying it up to refasten it, but my deck is massive and it was just too heavy. I built a scaffold out of 2x4s, then used this 2-ton bottle jack to raise the joist and...BAM! My deck is structurally perfect again. Bottom line: if you need an emergency jack to keep in your car, minivan, or SUV, then I recommend a scissor jack with OEM specifications. But if you're looking for a general purpose jack for a pickup, your home garage, or to use for home repairs, then I recommend this Hyper Tough 2-ton bottle jack.

I cannot believe how efficient this little jack is. I have an older Jeep that isn't lifted higher than it came from the factory but it's still a lot higher than a standard sedan. It can be difficult and time consuming using the standard screw jacks that come with any vehicle. There are usually 6 or 7 parts that are easily lost or bent and it can be frustrating. I used this to see how much easier it would be to lift the rear end of my Jeep than using the standard issue jack that came with it. Using the standard issue jack took a little over 5 minutes to go from removing it from storage to first contact with the vehicle. That can be pretty frustrating, especially if you're on the side of the interstate and you're likely in a hurry as so many of us are these days. It took less than 2 minutes to go from storage to first contact with this jack. I had my Jeep off the ground by about 2 inches in around 8 pumps of the handle. Uses standard hydraulic jack oil and has a very small insertion point so you're not going to make a huge mess pouring or using a funnel like you would a floor jack. Fits securely and discretely into your vehicle's trunk or in a garage. Takes up very little space anywhere you choose to store it. Has gripping teeth on point of contact in case you need to use wood to get a little extra space to reach higher contact points on your vehicle. With a 2-ton capacity, you can use it for any vehicle that you have that isn't a large commercial vehicle. So happy to have this little jack!

Sometimes you just need a little Jack, this jack is rated at 1 to 2 tons and is nice and compact. The action is smooth much better than other small jacks I've used over the years. Sometimes you just need a small jack on smaller cars are for other projects what do you need a little extra lifting effort and would be good for lawn tractors. The piston is 6 inches long fully extend it and you get another inch and a half by unscrewing the extension on the top which has a nice knurled finish for support. The base seems a little small for the length of the wall extend the base is 3 inches square with good solid steel. The handle could be improved seems a bit sloppy and poorly made. When releasing the pressure for the jack to come down it's a nice smooth motion and the valve to turn moves freely and smoothly in both directions. Overall very nice little Jack

The Hyper Tough 2 Ton Welded Bottle Jack is what you need if you've lost your vehicle jack or simply need one for the garage. It is easy to use and comes with its own jack handle. For lifting a vehicle on one side, front or back it makes changing a tire or brake pads a cinch. Of course, one needs to follow all safety precautions when lifting a side of a vehicle, and for that, instructions are included---if you have a pair of reading glasses handy for reading the smallest font one has ever seen. On one hand the consumer is made to feel lucky that instructions are even included as several products require one to download those from the internet. But conversely, many nationals may be utilizing the products vs Spanish speaking only. So why not allow downloads of other languages for French, Spanish, Afghanistan and Ukrainian immigrants and free up what is included in the product for a better readable instruction manual in English. There are serious safety considerations one needs to follow in using a product such as a vehicle jack--indeed, a fatality occurred a few years ago in my neighborhood due to incorrect use!

Easier to use than old traditional jacks that come supplied with new cars. A very easy to use and strong jack. I only wish it had a small case or nylon bag of some sort to keep the 3 pieces of the jack together. However, they sent black instead of the ordered red, but they work the same which is quite well and sturdy. I prefer bright colors for equipment that involves a lot of safety risk to remind me to be careful and for the instant quickness in seeing where the equipment is, whether when it's in use or stored away. Neon colors like safety red, safety orange, safety (lime) green, safety yellow. Colors like black, white, grey and so on can "disappear" as they blend into the black, grey, and white surroundings of the garage, or road, and vehicle they are being used on.
