Middle Ear Monitor 1 monitor Contents: 1 EarCheck device, 1 verification tube, 1 use & care manual. Recommended by pediatricians. Help take the guesswork out of ear infections. Physician-accuracy, now available to parents (Compared to EarCheck Pro model used by physicians). Detect signs early. Get solutions faster. Know when to call a doctor. Reliable results in seconds. Easy to use & gentle on child's ear. Helps detect signs of ear infection. It is not always easy to tell if your child has an ear infection. Especially since symptoms vary. But if left unchecked, ear infections can cause hearing loss and learning disabilities in some children. EarCheck helps take the guesswork out of ear infections by indicating the likelihood of fluid in your child's ear, a key sign of ear infection. You will then know when to consult the doctor and once your child is diagnosed with an ear infection, you can monitor whether the fluid is gone and the ear infection is clearing up. Proven FDA cleared technology. EarCheck features the same patented proven acoustic reflectometry technology used by thousands of physicians since 1997 and a technique recommended by the American Academies of Pediatrics and Family Physicians (The AAP/AAFP have not specifically recommended the EarCheck device). EarCheck has also been FDA cleared and UL approved for your peace of mind. Designed for a child's sensitive ears. EarCheck sends pleasant sound waves (chirps) down the ear canal. In seconds, the echo of the sound is analyzed to determine the presence of middle ear fluid. The lighted display indicates what to do next. Easy to understand. Red: Level 3-5; consult a doctor. Yellow: Level 2; monitor child for changes. Green: Level 1; fluid/ear infection unlikely. Designed for ages six months to young adult. US Listed. For home use only. Simple to use. 1. Have your child sit upright. 2. Place the EarCheck tip in the outer ear canal. 3. Press the scan button to obtain reading in seconds. Requires 2 AA alkaline batteries included. 1 monitor Libertyville, IL 60048 888-EAR-CHEK

My 1-year-old has symptom-free ear infections, so we never knew when to take her to the doctor. This monitor works well to determine whether or not her ears are infected. Some bad reviews say the monitor did not work on adults, but the packaging clearly says that it should only be used for children. When my daughter gets an infection, verified by the doctor, the monitor has a RED light, and the light changes to YELLOW and then GREEN as she is recovering. I haven't had any problems with this product. I rated only 4 stars out of 5 because of the price, and the fact that it is not available in any stores.

What a waste of money...clearance or not!! I am a total moron for thinking such a device could work. We used it maybe 10 times (playing with it) and when we really wanted to use it for our daughter, dead batteries. We changed the battery and all we get is *error*. I even saved that lovely piece of plastic they give for you to "test" it and tried that. Not working. Go to their website and it says get to a quiet place. Another joke. If anyone wants to waste money on it, come see me and give me money for this worthless "gadget".

I purchased this product due to my daughter frequent ear infection. I was having another baby and knew I'd run into the same issue. I wanted to save myself the time and money of running to the Dr. if it was a faulse alarm. I have had the product for over a year now and everytime it says error. I changed the batteries and still ERROR. I thought maybe I wasn't doing something right since I couldn't find the hard straight piece the manuel says to use to test the product, but now that the warrenty is out, my product still dosen't work and was a complete waste of money.

I purchased this product about 6 months ago and it has always been right on the money. You have to learn to use it the right way. For smaller children you really need to pull their ear a certain way to get a correct reading. I got it because my 2 yo never shows any signs of having an ear infection but gets them frequently. She gets no fever, doesn't pull at her ears and sleeps just fine so it's so hard to tell. This keeps me from guessing and wasting a trip to the doctor. Last night I got a 5, consult doctor saying she had a really bad one and sure enough when she went in today they said she had a double ear infection, the right ear which was showing a 5 was infected and the left ear which was showing a 1 for fluid unlikely was just becoming infected so we caught it early due to this great product.

I see where this product has had some negative reviews. We have battled a series of ear infections with our son for the past month, and the EarCheck has been right every time so far. We are on our second monitor. Our first was dropped by our 2 year old. I learned my lesson to not let this be a toy. This device really puts doubt to rest- especially when some children don't have fevers with ear infections. I would buy it again.
