The Jenny Craig Weight Loss Starter Kit came equipped with the following: three breakfast meals, three lunches, three dinners, four chocolate nutritional shakes, and seven anytime snack bars. The set had three full days of food with a twenty-three menu items. The kit also included a free initial personal one-on-one consultation with a Jenny Craig counselor along with a fifty dollar food saving coupon for further use of the product. The food itself was very tasty, it included such foods as a cranberry almond bar , a mixed berry bar, chicken salad kit, swedish style meatballs, turkey chili and cheese ravioli. The snacks included were lemon cookies, cheese curls, and white cheddar popcorn. The free session with the Jenny Craig counselor gave me an opportunity to talk through different challenges I might experience with food and gave me support that helped me to stay focus on my personal weight loss goal. This program also gave me a method of tracking my progress and celebrate my success......I lost 8.5 pounds during my three day experience.
This is a box of Jenny Craig Weight loss starter kit It is 3 days of food with 23 menu items It has 3 breakfast, 3 lunches,3 dinners, 3 snacks, 4 shakes and 7 snack bars So far I have liked the taste of the foods and it has been more than enough to keep me satisfied I do wish it had a higher protein count, because it is something I need. I did have a problem with some of them exploding and making a mess in my microwave. And yes I had lifted the corner to vent as instructed Other wise for an easy meal most where pretty good.I have to watch tomatoes though so that is a problem because so many had it in them I can't afford to do their program but it was good to try their foods to see if I would like it It looks like the kit cost about $45.00 andis exclusive to Walmart, in store only At that price it is worth trying. And it gives you an idea on how the program works I do recommend it is worth giving it a try
Overall I give Jenny Craig/the three day starter kit 4 stars. Opening the box: The guide and savings sheet were not inside the box. I did call for my initial consultation, and let her know that, and it will be reported and she emailed me the information and more. Very supportive and informative, and very willing and able to be the support you need when you are on a diet and trying to change your life for the better. She also explained all the food choices they have and how you can obtain those items even if you can't get them locally. (I can't I'm very rural). There are three dinners, three breakfast items, three lunches and three snacks. It also contained the anytime shakes and the anytime bars. If you like ready to cook foods and like an easy to follow diet this is for you. The food stands up to other ready to eat meals, and overall good tasting. A few of the items were a little on the sweet side for me. They seem small, but they are adequate sizes for the meals, and are filling. There are different calorie plans you can work out with your consultant. Im not used to a planned snack normally, but the bars and shakes are good, personally a bar and a shake would make a good breakfast on the go too. The cheddar puffs were a little odd first bite, but that went away….and they tasted fine. May have been me. I did lose weight the three days, 3.8lbs probably would have lost more if I had drunk more water, and I didn't drink enough. It is a balanced diet and menu especially if you add in some fruits and vegetables. Im not much of a fruit eater, but you could add berries and salads go great with these meals. They are easy enough to do, and if you don't have the time pick a bagged salad at the grocer. (The big Wal-Mart's have great produce sections). I was impressed with the consultant and her range of help they can give, and the meals and ease of it all. I would recommend it to someone who both needed to lose weight and didn't think they had the time………..it's so easy. Im not impressed with the information sheets being left out of the boxes-I hope that they get the production line in shape better. Can be an amazing product and help to those who need it.
I have heard really good things about Jenny Craig food, but I can't honestly say that the good stuff made it into this starter kit. I should start off by saying I enjoy flavorful food that is well spiced, but when I'm dieting, I'll usually go a blander route. This kit was a little too bland for my liking. White Cheddar Popcorn: The popcorn was OK, but it didn't really taste like white cheddar. There were too many hulls and seeds in the bottom of the bag. Cheese Curls: I enjoyed these and thought they were the best thing in the box. When you first taste them they taste kind of strange, but then they start getting good and are crunchy and cheesy. Lemon Cooler Cookies: I hated them, but my mother and sister each tasted one and thought they were fantastic. Cookie Dough Bar: The bar has that artificial sugar smell that lets you know something is not going to taste good. It hurt my teeth and it tasted sour. Cranberry Almond Barscotti: It was decent, it tasted like oats. Cereal: These were fine, but the portion was very small. Chocolate shakes: These rivaled the cookie dough bars for bad taste. The shakes had a medicinal aftertaste. Chicken Corn Chowder: This needed salt in a really bad way and was bitter. Turkey Chili: The sauce was pretty good, but I have never had ground turkey before so I was afraid to eat it. The meat was small, so that was good. Swedish meatballs: The meatballs were very tiny. It needed salt and more spice, it was very bland. Chicken Salad kit: The applesauce needed more sugar. The salad was overly sweet and crunchy, it was also dry. Cheese Ravioli: It didn't have a lot of flavor and the cheese had an odd look about it. What I like about the kit is that you get a lot of food, and you don't have to worry about doing any cooking, you can eat it as is or add some simple salads and sides. If the food had tasted better, I would have no problem recommending. I did not add any salt or seasonings because I wanted to review the food as it was.
The Jenny Craig Weight Loss Starter Kit was actually pretty good. It contained a lot of food for just 3 days. There was Turkey Chili, Ravioli, Penne with Meat Sauce, Swedish Meatballs, a Chicken Salad Kit with crackers and applesauce, Lemon Cookies, White Cheddar Popcorn, Cheese Puffs, 4 Chocolate Shakes, a Granola Bar, Cereal and a box of Chocolate Cookie Dough Bars. Of course there were some things that I didn't particularly care for, but many of the items tasted pretty good. The servings are very, very small but if you were to add things like a salad or vegetables with your meals, you would feel fuller. Also, nothing tastes as if any salt was in there, especially the popcorn. I don't use salt on my food at home but these foods were a little on the bland side. That being said, I still think it's a pretty nice weight loss starter kit. Plus, you also get a consultation with a person from Jenny Craig to help you get started on the right foot.
