I really wanted to like this kobo. I purchased it to replace my Kindle Paperwhite. It has a lot great features that you can read on other reviews. The major flaw in my view is the inability to zoom images in an epub book. I use this feature frequently on my kindle for maps and diagrams and shocked that kobo cannot do this. Without this functionality maps in kobo are not readable. I am returning my kobo. I very much wanted to like it, but I need the zoom feature.
I absolutely love this device. I have had other eReaders but this one offers so much more reader specific functions that it actually inspires me to read more. The ability to check out books from my local library is an absolute winner in my book (it helps with the budget). I enjoy the fact that it is so light in weight and I can easily add it to my handbag and not feel weighted down. I also thoroughly appreciate that I don't have to look at advertisements or other branded advertisements. I also love how the cover of my book displays when the reader is asleep. Overall - it is simply the best!!
I like the Kobo Libra H2O a lot. Much better (less 'buggy') than the Kindle I used to have, which has been taken over by my 9 year old. The fact that the Kobo integrates with OverDrive for eBooks from my local public library is a HUGE plus for me. I highly recommend this e-Reader!
Very disappointing. I bought this because it was advertised as having a feature called Overdrive that lets you borrow library books. It does, but so far, I've on been able to borrow one. You have to go through a hassle to get a book onto the device, even though supposedly it just comes directly from your library account to the device. You will have to install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, authorize the device on there, and then you will have to upload books from your library account to Adobe Digital Editions. From there you will have to connect the ereader to your computer and drag the book to the ereader in Adobe, but then you might not be able to actually read it because the device will say it's not activated. But it is. I wish I had bought a Kindle!
First I had to connect the device to WiFi or a PC with Rakuten software installed and sign in in-order to use the device which means I do not own it I am just renting it. The quality of the device has a cheap plastic toy feel to it, the start button feels like a rubbery sponge and the page buttons are stiff. Also, I unfortunately did not luck out and receive a unit with an uneven light issue. Overall not a good impression for my first Kobo experience and this was a same day return because of all the issues.
