I purchased the item for my Son's Birthday. He loves it!!

Nice little package to see if this is something I might be able to do part time. Reasonably priced.

PROS: Excellent value. Really, quite a good bass that I would recommend to anyone that wants to learn to play or that needs an inexpensive backup bass. The instrument is of good quality feels solid overall. Even the amp, although small and only adequate for low volume practice, is nevertheless well-made with quality parts and sounds good for its size (the actual cone is only about 3" but the solid closed-cab design lets it make a relatively big sound). Both amp and bass are good-looking (a fact that doesn't really come through in the online pictures). The tuner is the clip-on type and pretty cool, actually, as it works well. I found the book to be informative and well written. There is even an Allen wrench included for making truss-rod adjustments. On the subject of adjustments, I was amazed to find that the bass required ZERO adjustments (other than normal tuning) after traveling from Texas to Alaska (during a particularly cold period). CONS: Not much, really. I would have liked to have an auxillery input on the amp so that I could play along with music, but lack of one is acceptable for the price point. Also, I would have liked a stouter instrument cable, but the included cable is adequate. I would have preferred that the tuner not require the button-type of battery. The electronics are entry-level, but the bass itself does feel a little high-end(ish). One might consider getting this bass and upgrading the electronics at some point... Bottom line: get it, it's a great deal.

Bought for my Husband's birthday. He is a "retired" rock drummer who has always wanted to try bass guitar. The bass guitar is weighty and a lot nicer than expected! The amp is small, but probably okay for practice. It came with a strap, guitar pick, electronic tuner, cd and book; and arrived 2 days earlier than expected. The electronic tuner will suffice, but better can be obtained. Overall a good package for a beginner! He was very pleased.
